It's a bonus that all the scenarios are original, but whereas medal of honour: heroes gave us series stalwarts such as baker and patterson to identify with, the names of roads to victory's protagonists are soon lost to memory - consumed beneath the indentikit, plotless action.
Then there are the controls, which are as awkward as ever dispite four layouts. Why not less us configure our own? grrr. At least the obscenely accommodating auto-targeting compensates somewhat, though it makes the game pretty easy. Better luck next time, soldier.....

Escape to Victory was released in 1981, a film that is similar in structure to that of the war films like The Great Escape, but also different in the fact that Football really is the place where the battles are lost and won rather than the battlefield itself. When this film was released Paul McCartney's video of Pipes of Peace was always on my mind, the video tells a story of a Football match that took place in World War I where a truce was called on Christmas Day between the warring parties, Victory has overtones of this as well as the Allies playing the Germans in the Stade Colombes in Nazi occupied Paris.
The plot is a simple setup, set in a prisoner of war camp in World War II; a German Officer notices a group of Allied troops kicking a ball about. He watches them and recognises John Colby, played by Michael Caine, the German ...
The Road Racers' is a documentary of the Irish road racing season beginning with the North West 200, through the Cookstown 100 to the finale at Carrowdore. 'V Four Victory' is a documentary covering the 1983 Formula One Motorcycle World Championship.
