Advantages Advantages Entertaining film, an interesting look back at life in the 80s!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Low budget, depressing surroundings, a lot of swearing (if that offends you!)

Everything about this film, when taken at face value, means it shouldn't work. It shouldn't be funny, it shouldn't be entertaining - but it is! Rita, Sue and Bob too is a low budget British movie, which is set in 1987, so features a lot of awfully dodgy fashions which bring back cringe-making memories: tight white skirts with bows on the back, worn with court shoes, is a particular favourite of mine, especially when teamed with big earrings and what is threatening to be a mullet hair cut! Anywam the film begins when teenager Rita (Siobhan Finneran, currently on our screens as Julie in BBC1's ... more

    Advantages Advantages RITAS LOVELY MULLET

Disadvantages Disadvantages BOBS ARSE IN THE WINDOW OF HIS JAG

WOWZERS RITA,SUE AND BOB TOO..... SET IN MY HOME TOWN FILMED RIGHT NEAR MY HOUSE A CLASSIC OF MODERN FILM ITS UNBELIAVEBLY TRUE, WE ALL KNOW IT... This film details the lives of two girls from a rough housing estate in Bradford, Rita (she of the beautiful mullet) and Sue (She of the gorgeous off-the-shoulder 80's tops) begin having sex or "riding" the husband of the man they babysit for. These adventourous girls spend amourous nights on the moors taking it in turns to "ride" Bob in his jaguar. The film is a blisteringly cruel look at life in the 80's and also rougher than rough girls from ... more

    Advantages Advantages good film

Disadvantages Disadvantages swearing and a bit of racism..

I do not know what it is about this film but it makes compulsive viewing and I must have seen it over 20 times or so. I think it so funny whilst been sad at the same time and shows the class divide of people and how people live. Main Characters ----------------------- Michelle Holmes - Sue Siobhan Finneran - Rita George Costigan - Bob Lesley Sharp - Michelle - Bobs Wife Kulvindar Sharp - Aslam - Sues Boyfriend Willie Ross - Sues Father Whilst this film has a hint of racism it is done sympethetically and it also contains a lot of the F word, but rather than using it as an out of character word ... more

Advantages Advantages down to earth comedy, working class background,

    Disadvantages Disadvantages weak storyline

This film is based around an economically deprived area of Bradford. The film is built around two schoolgirl babysitters called Sue (Michelle Holmes) and Rita (Soibhan Finneran) who baby-sit for a middle class family; however the husband in the family (GeorgeCostigan) likes to dabble with more than one woman and consequently has an affair with both babysitters. The young babysitters are brought up quickly in this unnatural world and are more interested in sex, drugs and rock n roll. Once the collapse of the marriage between Bob (George Costigan) and Michelle (Lesley Sharp) occurs the ... more

    Advantages Advantages very good laugh

    Disadvantages Disadvantages --

Main actors: Siobhan Finneran, Michelle Holmes, George Costigan and Willie Ross. This was made in 1986 or 1987 and the white clothing of the time (in addition to silly haircuts) proliferate. The film concerns the exploits of two sixteen year olds (Finneran and Holmes) who babysit for Bob (Costigan) and his wife. Bob has an affair with the two of them and a lot of the action takes place in his car in the hills overlooking their home town (if memory serves me right it is Bradford). The language is a bit choice and the action ‘earthy’ (ie rude). Perhaps the best parts are those with ... more
