Although I had not seen the origanal 2, I was unsaw and took me a while to watch it despite hearing all the comments. A film I wished I watched earlier.
Its full of suspense, thrill, twists and turns, a seven day race against time to find the truth about a Video tape.
Reiko Asakawa, is a reporter, afater hearing about the tape decided to write a story, which she was told that if you watch it, immediatly the phone rings and u die after 7 days. After the death of her niece and talking to friends sh realises theres more to this also more deaths, when she went to a cabin with some other friends, after visiting the cabin and finds the videotape they watched (noting how conincidently the tape landed on the self and how she new what she was looking for).
Anyway she watches the tape and decided to find the truth after noticing some similarities to what was on tape things that happen during the seven days, to discover the truth you follow the tape. (clues are in tape), this with help from a tape expert (who watches film) and with determination added on more when her young son watches tape, the race is on.
Basicly the rest is just alot of scary moments, back flshes and twists. The ending however is interesting, and it senses theres more to it than u realise
Ill have to say it on one of the best Horror films list, and one to buy just for a thrill. However I have to see it again as the ending I was unsaw of and a few Questions seem not to be answerd, then maybe it was never meant to be.

Hi, don't watch this comment, it's like the ring, or You'll be ignored for 70 seconds :) ... This ones great stuff, but the review is a little bit to small, seems to be unfinished ... Many regards, have a nice weekend, Sven (Zoobremia)

Check things through before you put them up on the internet... there are so many errors. Not only spelling and grammer mistakes but what you are saying is wrong... It's her ex husband, father of her child not 'some tape expert'.
