laugh a minute jokes and hysterical anecdotes and audience participation. Known for his role as couch potato Jim Royle in The Royal Family off screen Ricky Tomlinson has been a plasterer banjo player comic union agitator political activist award-winning actor and even a prisoner. He's now embarked on a stand up tour with special guests Pauline Daniels Tony Barton and Duncan Norvelle.
Advantages: Superbly Funny, Eements of 'Brent'! Disadvantages: A bit controversial and rude at some points, but not long enough!
...! “don’t send horses to perform medical procedures!” and “if your surnames Dumpty, don’t call your firstborn Humpty! He’s already an egg!”).
The highlight of the show however is a story about a leaflet, on the subject of Aids prevention from the early 1990’s, there are 10 points to it, not only is it absolutely side-splittingly funny , but you will be able to quote the glorious punch line to this story for the rest of your life! - seriously!
DVD’s nowadays are judged not just on the main content, but on the extra’s that come with them, and in this respect ‘Politics’ doesn’t disappoint. Included on the DVD is the stand-up routine of Ricky’s support act Robin Ince, a ‘living with Ricky’ documentary which really makes you realise how mad he is, and what an annoying person he would be to live with! Advantages: Some fo the best stand-up comedy out there Disadvantages: Ribs hurt and hours are wasted
...of a punishment for a snake is it? I bet the snake was like "Oh, oh yeah, yup, there that is. Oh we're quits now yeah? Ooo how does this work again? I wish I could fly like normal!""
Animals continues in brilliant fashion, Ricky Gervais enthrals the audience and pauses between outbursts of laughter are few and far between. Although brilliant, 'Animals' it is clearly a class below the follow-up show, 'Politics'.
I would argue that politics is Gervais's best comedy piece ever, on or off screen. It is a watertight set that gives the audience little time to catch their breath. It starts like 'Animals' with a video sketch which really gets the audience going. The whole set is a bit rude, a bit controversial, and the short at the beginning is no different. In the showRicky Gervais addresses a number of issues and gives his opinion on political aspects...

Advantages: Very funny jokes and stories Disadvantages: short at 75 minutes
...mentioned issue within the show.
He talks about stories since he's become famous such as being pestered for autographs, and tells stories of how tabloids and the media report different things about him. He also mentions family stories from before he were famous which are very funny.
He refers to other celebrities and how the media has made some people and ruined others. He also refers to reality tv shows such as Big Brother and Celebrity Love Island.
From start to finish Ricky continuously impresses the crowd and myself watching this DVD. I personally couldn't stop laughing. I would definately recommend this to any ricky Gervais fan who has seen either of his other 2 shows or his tv series The Office and Extras.
This stand up definately lived upto expectations and although is only 75 minutes long which is short compared to some other...
