The best DVD game i have ever played, great for top gear fans, motoring fans or basically anyone as only small amounts of car knowledge are required. Hamster (Richard Hammond) presents the whole DVD through voice and video so it feels very similair, and follows the same concept, as a top gear episode.
When you load the dvd you are presented with a screen asking to choose "Billy No Mates"(single player) or "Head to Head". After selecting you are given a short intro by Hamster. In the first game "Keep your Distance" you are shown a photo of a section of a car, you must then choose the correct car name from a list. If you choose the right car you get 5 points towards your total marks, the wrong one and you lose 5 seconds of your time limit. The next round is called "Under the Bonnet" where you are given a short video clip of a car and then given a statistic, i.e. top speed; you are then given a clip of a second card and must decide if the statistic is higher or lower for the second card. A very similar format to the top trumps card game. You play this round twice and gain 10 points for getting one correct so if you get both right you get 20 points. At the end of each round the DVD tells you your current total points. In the third round "The Cool Wall" you are shown 6 cars and must choose if they are cool or un-cool. If you get it right you get points wrong you don't. However there is two cars in there that are seriously un-cool and sub-zero and if you put them in the wrong section you lose points. "Caravan Roulette" the game you have all been waiting for, in this round there is six caravans and Hammond is hiding in one of them, you can decide to blow-up 3 to 5 caravans however if you blow up Hammond you lose points. The more caravans you destroy without killing Hammond the more points you get, so deciding to only destroy 3 won't get as many points as destroying all five. Remember however as soon as Hammond dies you lose all your points. The final round "The need for Speed" is a quick fire question round about cars. You have to answer 15 questions with 10 seconds to answer each question; you get 5 points for a correct answer. Its multiple choice and you get 4 options for each question.
Overall this is definitely the best DVD game I have ever played with all the wit and humour from top gear incorporated well. However it would have been better if it included Clarkson to mix it up a bit (although you can buy another game with the stig presenting, I don't know if its the same with the stig instead or different rounds). Also the game includes some of the best extracts from the show such as when they tried to cross the channel in cars. My final note on the DVD would be the design of all the menus and mini-games which are very well done and incorporate lots of car memorabilia. A must buy for motoring or top gear fans.
