X-Men "The Movie"
What can I say apart from it was excellent ..!! Bryan Singer's view on X-men (considering that he had never watched or read anything to do with X-men before making this movie!) was mind-blowing! Special effects were used how they should be used to aid the story and not over the top at all!
I loved the way the film portrayed the love-triangle thing between Wolverine, Jean Grey and Cyclops - very well acted!!
The casting of the ... ...Star Trek fame!) as Professor Xavier was a brilliant idea .. he pulled it off extremely well!!
Nice to see that the film sold it's self on the merits of the actual film and not, like most films, on the hope that people will go along to watch a certain actor or actress!
The film was also quite gothic and with a bit of dark humour thrown in - what else could you need from a film!! 11 of out 10 - one of the best action/adventure movies I have seen ...

The writer must have such a wild imagination. The things that he thought of were so abnormal. He created things like a mutant, that could enter someones mind and completely take control of their actions, or someone that could create an enormous magnetic field ... ...this mutant with the magnetic field (called Magneto) lifts a gun with his powers, and fires it at a police man, but Professor X, the man with the mind controlling powers holds this bullet with his powers. But the thing about this bullet, is that is is spinning on the forehead of this police mans head. Weird at first, but then it was kind of funny. He didnt die, because Magneto dropped the bullet after all. This was just one of the amazing scenes ...
X-Men is without doubt what Star Wars was to older generations in the 1980s. With the new age of digital fx, the concept of X-Men puts into film what most of us as kids used to wonder what would happen if the cartoons would be reality. The film brings us a step closer to the dream with stunning realism in visual fx, and excellent sound fx (especially the part where Xavier uses his telepathic powers to guide Wolverine to his study) which make watching ... ...I used to watch the X-Men cartoon on TV. If you used to be a fan of the cartoon you will appreciate the film wholeheartedly mainly because you will understand that the X-Men story cannot be squeezed into 2hrs worth of film. ...a Ruth Rendell mystery, yet the whole idea behind the X-men isn't supposed to. X-men is a nice change from random violence and illustrates the struggle of any minority and how difficult their plight is against mankind.

Hi well i have never watched the cartoon or read the comic book so although i knew what kind of a movie to expect i was in two minds weather i would enjoy this film.

Advantages: Fun to watch Disadvantages: bit predictable
Although at first i was sceptical of how this film would transpose from comic to film, my worries were answered immediately.From the beginning of this film each character is brought to life by brilliant acting skills combined with an exciting,griping,fast moving story line.
"Rogue"The first Xwomen we really come into contact with makes us feel immensely sorry for the situation she's in and can't control as she is unable to touch any human being ... ...uses his mutant powers to earn money bare knuckle fighting(very nice too with no top on and tight jeans!).
The two very differnt characters get together to an extent in a Father/Daughter bond, and then in turn join with Xavier, a mutant who helps other mutants control and use most effectively their powers shielded from the outside world in a special school for gifted children.
The main story is that of good fighting evil. Xavier, Wolverine, Rogue, ...

...I couldn't wait for the X-men cartoon to come on Fox at eleven. I collected comics, figurines, everything I could get my hands on. As an adult that fascination hasn't faded, only the cartoon has disappeared. When I heard they had made a movie based on it I just knew I had to see it.
Filled with special effects to rival that of most movies out today, and a plot that follows the orignal to the letter, this is an excellent movie for fans. The plot ... ...as they struggle to coexist with humans in peace and rid the world of the one man trying to destroy that peace.
Not everyone will be interested enough to watch this at the theaters but it's definitely good enough to see on video for a fun change of pace. ...

The reason for that is that superhero movies are expensive, and they often fail (Steel,The Punisher, Judge Dredd, Howard the Duck), both critically and financially. In my mind, a comic book movie is faced with meeting both the expectations of its core audience, and being entertaining to others as well. Superman and Batman are the rare examples that have done this (Blade was good, but it detoured quite a bit from ... ...quality and faithfulness. After seeing X-Men for the first time, I found myself rushing to make proclamations about it being the "best comic book movie ever," so I got back in line and saw it again. I often do that before I give a film a good rating; because I feel the best films not only can be repeated, they often get better with repeats. Happily, X-Men does that. ...

Advantages: Rated 12 so your kids can watch. Disadvantages: A good science fiction but nothing outstanding.
X-MEN is based on the Marvel Comic characters of the same name. Essentially, the film is about being different from the norm. Those in power who fear the mutants who have special skills and those mutants who feel persecuted by those in power. There are two groups of mutants. Those who are under the tutelage of Professor Xavier and are taught to respect their power and to live in harmony, and those who are aligned with Magneto, A man, persecuted as ... ...forward the dominance of the mutants against normal society.
Magneto has a plan to change the world leaders into mutants and it is Professor Xaviers job, along with his X-Men, to thwart that plan.
The mutable effects are excellent. Wolverine can heal himself and has blades that spring from his hands. Rogue can suck the life force out of another being. Mystique can change her shape to be anyone she wants to.

Imported from america, this film loses little in its transition from cinema to small screen, packed with special features including ten minutes of unseen footage, also a behind the scenes featureete and interactive menus, animated scenes, 6 trailers and interviews with the director, there has been no expense spared here, the film is packed full of special effects and has a half decent story too, somethin which has been lacking from recent blockbusters. ...

Which aroused so much anger from him, he brought it out in a way that is hard for us to understand.

I was looking forward to this movie, having been a fan of the cartoon series, (I've never had much time for comics though) I can honestly say that I wasn't disappointed. The story is easily accessible, and one that holds your interest throughout, the characters are portrayed very well, with Cyclops coming across as a bit of a "dick" (film qoute) and Rogue as a vulnerable youngster confused by her recent mutant developments.
