Mutation: it is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, and normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward…
Although “Blade” was made two years before, “X Men” is widely considered to be the first Marvel Movie Adaptation. This is probably because “X ...

...the trailers we both decided x-men looked pretty cool. So out came the sofa bed and the surround sound and the popcorn and we were off.
Well, what can I say but wow, this film is absolutely excellent.
The story is mainly based around 6 main characters. They are wolverine, rogue, cyclops, storm, magneto and the professor, although there are many more superb characters.
The government know that there are mutant humans living amongst the normal ...

Remember too, that the X-Men is not solely an ‘action’ movie i.e fight scenes, chases, special effects, explosions, you know the typical kind of thing you get in a ‘blockbuster’ – it also tries to go beneath the façade of the superhero.
The movie is set at some time in the ‘near future’ and revolves around the ‘anti-mutant’ sentiment that is evident in members of the U.S. Congress ...

...in question. I missed watching X-MEN when it came out at the cinema a couple of years back, and knowing that I was spending the night in all alone (get the violins out), and nothing decent showing on TV (what a surprise!), I thought I'd rent the film out for tonight and see if it lived up to the hype. I went along merrily to the counter, gave the lady cashier my gorgeously coloured, recently acquired video club member card, paid my 99p rental fee, ...

...to get the impression that X-Men is desperate to become a franchise. Whereas other big screen comic adaptations (Batman, Blade) hinted at the inevitable sequel, X-Men seem to be trying too hard. The breakneck pace is enjoyable, but gives the cast no room to breathe. A sub plot involving Wolverines past is hinted at, the relationship between Jean Grey and Cyclops is quickly forgotten about and while the action is adequate, the films’ payoff feels totally ...

Advantages: Rogue, sticks to the comic-books Disadvantages: Bit short
I grew up with the X-Men don't you know?, its true - every Saturday morning I would rush down stairs to watch Wolverine, Cyclops and the gang have a good ole fight with other Mutants and/or a couple of Humans thrown in for good luck, and I'll let you all into a little secret of mine - when an X-Men marathon appears on Fox Kids, I feel all warm inside and still sit back and watch it.
But this is 2001 and cartoons just aren't that passe any more, ...

The X-Men are striving to convince humans that they can live in harmony, and at the same time they are helping mutants come to terms with and control their very individual powers. The task in hand is tough enough, but this team has an added complication. Not all mutants feel as they do about humans. Some are, unsurprisingly, remarkably bitter and vowing for vengeance against those who shun them. A very powerful mutant named ...

>>>THE STORY<<<
Evolution has taken a further step. A new breed of Humans is appearing. They are known as Homo superior or the Children of the Atom. This is a new breed of powerful mutants possessing many special powers.
Some such as professor Charles Xavier, argue that the mutants should be integrated in to human society and their powers ...

The young girl, named Rogue (Anna Paquin) links up with a bad tempered mutant called Wolverine (Hugh Jackman); his abilities include retractable metallic claws and amazing healing abilities. They are attacked by the evil Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his followers. Luckily for the pair, Cyclops (James Marsden) ...

Xmen.... well I remember the TV children’s cartoon and I’ve been aware of the comic series for quite a long time but I was a bit sceptical about watching the movie. I wasn’t a fan of the Batman movies and very few comic book/cartoon series have been turned into a decent movie.
If you remember the cartoon or the comic book then the story line of the film won’t come as much of a shock! Certain people have mutant genes and they mutate at puberty causing ...

Saying all this, X-men wasn’t a bad version for director Bryan Singer. As the plot goes it isn’t the greatest story your going to witness this year, but it wasn’t weak and it didn’t let the film down. Basically the world leaders want all mutants ...

...the past year and with X-Men provong a big hit you'd expect a great dvd. Bryan Singer was quoted as saying they had shot a lot of behind the scenes stuff and there was a rumour that a lot of stuff had been cut from the film.
What we get is very poor by comparison to say disks like Fight Club. Firstly the picture is presented in anamorphic 2.35.1 and features a Dolby 5.1 sound mix. The picture is top quality and as you'd expect the sound is great. ...

Having read the X-Men comic as a kid, I was reasonably excited to see what the film adaptation would be like. The film had definitely been hyped as a big ‘Summer blockbuster’ and as such would either be a big flop or an exciting piece of real escapism.
Firstly, sit yourself down in the right frame of mind to watch this movie. Think of it as Superman, Batman – you must therefore suspend certain rules of reality.
Then, remember ...
