...suspicions-stroke-delight when the mildly disappointing X-Men franchise got given the go ahead for another slice of the cash pie.
Let us delve into the plot, eh? Oh, let we, let we.
***THE PLOT***
It’s pretty much straight after the events documented in the first X-Men (synopsis: Mutants exist. They meet each other. Save world leaders. End), and facial-hairily-challenged Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is in Canada trying to dredge up nuggets of ...

Played by actress Halle Berry. Storm (as she'll be known from now on) came to Xavier with a very destructive power. Storm has the ability to manipulate the weather at will. She can create monsoons, cyclones, rain storms, thunder, lightning, fog, anything to do with the weather. Storm was one of Xavier's first students and he taught her to control her power. ...

His cast (who were signed up to return for at least one sequel) were going to make him big bucks on the 2nd installment of the comic book adapatation. Since X-Men, Halle Berry has won an Oscar, Ian McKellan has played Gandalf, Hugh Jackman has hit the bigtime with films like Swordfish and Kate & Leopold, and Famke Janssen has....had her hair cut? ...(understandably) is being marketed as X-Men 2. Do they think that that somehow sounds cooler? I can’t imagine…
Anyway. This is perhaps the first sequel I’ve ever seen without first seeing the original. I think you can get away with it if you have some familiarity with the background of the (sorta-) titular X-Men of Marvel comic book fame. I’m not so sure you would if you don’t have that knowledge, however. Returning ...

The film starts from where the previous one ended with Magneto held in the purpose build non-conductive prison and wolverine is returning from his voyage to discover how he was made.

...been sceptical about the original X-men film and ending up pleasantly surprised, I decided to view this sequel with less sceptical eyes and once more was treated to another effect-laden Marvel from director Bryan Singer.
The technical wizardry combined with an all star cast including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen vividly brings to life one of the most popular of comic book tales.
For the uninitiated, ...

Advantages: Good action stuff Disadvantages: a bit violent for very young children
The second X-Men film starts exactly where the original ended. Bad guy Magneto (Ian McKellen) is still in his plastic prison while Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) continues his mission to bring together ‘normal’ people and Mutants through his school for ‘special’ people.
Your old chums from the first film are all still on board: Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Jean Grey (Famke Janssen), Cyclops (James Marsden) Storm (Halle Berry) and others.

Professor Charles Xaivier (Patrick Steuart) is a mutant who runs a school for 'gifted' people and to protect them from the world that hates them. On top of that, Xaivier is also the leader of a mutant team known as the X-Men.

Even from the quality of the trailer you know this films is going to be fantastic. The opening sequence shows Alan Cummings new addition to the team teleporting himself through the whitehouse in an attempt to assasinate the president. Meanwhile Wolverine is still having difficulties with where he came from and knowledge of his background. This introduces a stunning but complex storyline about the creation of him by a deranged human who is now hellbent ...

Advantages: Fast Paced, distinctive Sci-Fi Disadvantages: Nothing worth mentioning
I thought the original X-Men was a ground-breaking movie. How..? well, to me it was the first decent stab by hollywood at getting a true comic classic right. The characters were all there (within reason), and none of them had been fiddled with or edited for political correctness or whatever loonacy that often plagues such endeavours.
X-Men 2 therefore was eagerly awaited. The excellent website only served to heighten my anticipation, and when I ...

The Plot: X-Men 2 follows on from the first film, it helps if you have seen it first, but not necessary. I never like giving too much away about storylines as I feel it spoils for anyone who has the pleasure in viewing the film later, but here goes. It starts off with an attack against the president of the USA by a mutant, the next step in the evolution of human kind. This attack helps fuel the growing tension between normal ...
