Advantages: Good crime thriller, plenty of suspense! Disadvantages: Not really an X-File film, poor ending!
...time ago now that The X-Files graced our screen, and the old Fox Mulder that used to be great in the series, simply doesn't apper in this film. David Duchovny looks very weathered and tired in this film (partly down to his beard, but also probably partly down to his real-life addiction). Gillian Anderson, however, is the same old Scully that I remember, very straight faced and scientific. Billy Connolly plays the psychic priest, with a sinful past, ... ...this movie.
As an X-Files fan back in the day, I was a little disappointed in this film. It was actually quite a good film, but I somehow expected so much more. The biggest problem for me I think was the fact that there wasn't much 'X-Files' about the film at all, it just seemed more like a good, crime thriller of a film instead. Apart from the odd reference, there was no supernatural, or unexplained events throughout the whole film, which has always ...

Advantages: The return of TV's loved heroes Disadvantages: A slightly lackluster return
...I was never a big X-Files fan this has been one of my eagerly awaited movies of the year. For those that for years revelled in the will they won't they hype regarding the romantic entanglements of agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovney) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) the answer to this is answered within a short time amount of time from the movie beginning; even though Mulder is on the run from the FBI; X-Files: I Want To Believe finds Mulder and ... ...rather brief appearance of the X-Files logo and the haunting whistle of the familiar X-files tune the story thrusts into the heart of the action. While the FBI aid a convicted paedophile Father Joe (Billy Connelly) in a search of a desolate snow and ice filled location the story cuts to a woman fighting for her life against two unknown assailants in the dark. The two incidents are connected the woman attacked being an FBI agent. The fact that Father ...

Advantages: The return of Mulder and Scully Disadvantages: Script and direction could have been better
When an FBI agent vanishes from her home the only connection the FBI have to finding her is a convicted paedophile priest. Doubting his ability they call upon one man with a history in this type of case, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny). He's been in hiding for the last 8 years avoiding false charges brought by his old FBI bosses to discredit his work. They ask for his help and agree to drop all of the charges as Mulder and former work, now cohabiter ... ...FBI once again. I'd always been a big fan of the X Files throughout the 90's until it came to an end in 2002. I'd even enjoyed the first movie and so when this return to the big screen was announced last year have to admit to have been looking forward t it. It's taken me until now to see it and given the reviews I've read over the last year for it I wasn't sure if I should even bother. I was quite surprised though and while it's not a complete return ...

...his well known tracks- the X-files theme in an attempt to please the X-files fans. ''' CASTING ''' The big plus points of this film is the acting by the duo; very good effort. They handled the script very well; even if it was cheesy in some parts. Anderson has an amazing range of emotional acting; it was evident in this film. However, I have to say Duchovny didn't take very long to get back into his groove of the character and it was evident that ... ...put-together, the scenes have no coherent flow, not all the loose ends have been tied up. Advantages: Enjoyable thriller (without the X-Files element), Duchovny and Anderson's acting Disadvantages: Wasn't really a traditional X-Files style production
...are elements to appeal to X-Files fans, with hints and mentions, albeit brief, to the relationship the two of them nearly had, during the majority of the TV series, and then finally did have. Their relationship, or lack of it, is briefly mentioned in this, and their on screen chemistry is still as magical and appealing as it ever was. There is no doubting their skills on screen, whether it be TV series or feature film. Although this flows like an ... ...If you are a hardened X-Files fan, I can only imagine that disappointment will be foremost for you. My wife and I watched it tonight, and we both agreed that, as X-Files fans, we really weren't impressed. In all honesty, I was expecting something more akin to the government conspiracy theories involving aliens that Carter usually gives us with these guys, but the closest we got was Father Joe being all freaky and having visions (none of which we ...

Advantages: Mitch Pileggi is back! Disadvantages: WAY too complicated
This is a truly awful movie. It starts out with an unknown woman being chased by 2 unknown male assailants for an unknown reason. Are you starting to see a pattern of unknown stuff? Anyway the FBI contact Scully who is working as a Doctor at a Catholic Hospital to help them find a missing FBI agent but they want her to help them find Mulder
(who is wanted by the FBI but we're never told why) as its his kind of case, something weird.
It turns out ... ...think that's clearly explained) so the movie has already jumped the shark as the whole point of their relationship in the series was always a "will they, won't they" & left open to debate. Mulder is sucked back into a world he'd been away from and goes off to meet the man helping the FBI to find their missing agent, Father Joe (played by Billy Connolly) who is a disgraced & defrocked Priest having been discovered as a Pedophile (you'll get numerous ...

Advantages: Brings back much loved characters like skinner, scene views were good in the outback Disadvantages: poor acting, contradictory storyline, unbelievable relationships
This is a film (they're second to date) based on the very popular X Files series that was on during the 1990's. This series had an amazing series of investigations into the paranormal by two FBI special agents. The skeptic Special Agent Dana Skulley (Gillian Anderson) and the believer Special Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny). (Interesting fact here it the other way round in real life Gillian Anderson is the Believer).
The story starts as a FBI ... ...A discgraced priest played by Billy Connolly leads them to an arm, who claims he has psychic visions. Mulder and Skulley are brough back into the loop by Amanda Peets FBI Agent, who looked through they're old files, which were rubbished by the FBI and Mulder was exiled while Skulley became a doctor in a Church hospital, which is of the opinion who turf they're patients once they become paliative, rather than try and risk radical treatments.
I won't ...

...come out!
Im a big x-files fan and have been for years. I was then eagerly awaiting this movie. I wasnt slightly put off when I discovered that this movie was a "monster of the week " storyline. In x-files the series there was two types of episode. a monster episode which was a one off and didnt progress the ongoing storyline. Then there was the mytharc, which were episodes which involved the aliens and the plot to destroy earth etc. The previous ... ...this movie involves a psychic Billy connoley helping the FBI to find some missing people ( no they havnt been abducted). Scully , now a doctor, is asked to find Mulder as his expertise in the paranormal would help the investigation. At the end of the series Mulder goes into hiding as the FBI set out a manhunt for him. Apparently all is forgiven now and everyone can be friends again. The acting in the movie isnt too bad. Duchovny is a little bit stale ...

After being a huge fan of the T.v seres i rushed to watch this movie. I was very disapionted. the story was terrible. the love tension bewteen Mulder and Scully had gone which was one of the main pionts of T.V show. Scully is working as a Doctor at a catholic hospital. which includes some incredibly boring scenes. The Movie takes along time to get going intil some action at the end. the only plus in the movie is when Walter skinner makes his apprence ...
