Advantages: Great look at Early Vietnam War Battles

I bought the DVD of "We Were Soldiers" last week and immediately through it in the player. I thought I knew a lot about the Vietnam War, but this Movie put me in my place. Mel Gibson, who some compare to Pacino, put on a stellar performance, in a film that blew Platoon out of the WAter. Disadvantages: Not for the squeamish at times

Absolutely amazing solid performances from everyone! One of Mels best films incredidible well film the entire film stinks of greatness that is rearly seen in 'based on true story films'. Thouroughly enjoyable and only a few moments when your girlfriend will hide behind a pillow and even the hard core will feel their stomachs churn. (Jimmy Chew being mowed after the napalm). Although everyone has different opinions i always think it is benifitting to hear other peoples opinions to see their view of things. This is my opinion on 'We were Soldiers'. When i watched it i wanted to watch it again and then again and then again. It seemed to be the more i watched it the more gripping it became. Not a bad film to watch for the story line, based on fact, and the special effects. This film is very watchable and enjoyable. The story line and battle scenes will keep you glued to the movie from start to finish, allowing you only brief rest bites from all the action going on.
