Advantages: still a good story Disadvantages: unfaithful to the book
This film is loosely based on the book by Dean Koontz. I do mean loosely aswell. Travis Cornell as changed from an EX-DELTA force soldier to a ten year old boy. Travis's mum is the romanic lead in the book. These are little niggles but the film is still good.
The story is about a goverment experiment that has gone wrong. It starts off with an explosion at a factory. Two animals escape, one has been bred for intelligence and the other for pure brute ... ...intelligent dog. However on their tale is a psycho federal agent (Michale Ironside) LEM JOHNSON and the viscous animal is never far behind leaving a path of destruction and whenever the animal kills it takes the eyes of its victims. Not faithful to the book, and Dean Koontz felt his book had been murdered. Still a good film, and will make you jump. The effects could have been better but it was a low-budget film, still pleasantly enjoyable. There ...
