...of gore and guts and Underworld falls under this category superbly! Okay so what was I expecting even before I watched this movie? The Matrix offered similar black leather, guns and slo-mo combat, the Vampire Chronicles books offered up the vampires-as-people-not-monsters concept and Blade gave the modern twist on weapons. You wouldn't imagine an action packed vampire flick would be that hard to pull off, would you? But this is a partucularly dull episode of blasting and stabbing by first time director Len Wiseman. The story is supposed to be that Kate Bekinsale is Selene, a Werewolve hunter or Death Dealer as they're know in the film. And her job is to hunt werewolves as part of the war between vampires and werewolves that has apparently been waging for centuries. ...

Her suspicions turn out to be right and we discover that the werewolves need Scott Speedman (the guy) for something entirly forgettable. If they get him the vampires will lose the war blah blah blah.
