...but it just doesn't ring true for me. At the end of the day, this is a pretty good film. Not a masterpiece by any means, but certainly an enjoyable couple of hours. True Lies was another classic action film that was butchered by the BBFC upon its first release on video in the UK. Director James Cameron was reportably so unhappy with the editing that he took it upon himself to implement the cuts personally. This has to be one of my ultimate 'action' film favourites. Despite the fact it was made 14 years ago, you cannot take away the fact that the special effects are amazing and the storyline is just pure brilliance. The Plot Harry Tasker seems like a normal happily married man and father. His family believe he's 'just' a salesman, when in reality he is one of the government's top secret agents. True Lies is simply a great action film. Yes you could say that certain aspects are stolen from Bond films but who cares because they are done the Schwarzenegger way. By this I mean big budget, big explosions, big guns and sexy women. It is superb seeing Arnold playing a super spy at last and he pulls it off perfectly acting calm and collected is a violently escalating situation.
