...did this by fighting against Troy htough he needed some serious convincing by his cousin who idled Achillies. Achillies' cousin died by a prince from Troy which madened Achillies. he then challengeed this prince to a one on one fight and predictably Achillies came out of the fude with most body parts attached. Next came the genius plan "The Trojan Horse" The Sparticans fell for this trick and out popped ..... You guessed it Achillies and slaughtered ...
...rather than the downfall or Troy and half of its population. Overall I would fully recommend this film as a must see, it's very enjoyable for anyone above 12 yrs, and slighty educational. Before seeing this film, the critics had panned it for being too focused on Brad Pitt. I am a big fan of some of Pitts recent films, Ocean's 11, snatch and fight club being three examples of good enjoyable films with good Pitt characters. This film, however, concentrates too heavily on Pitts character, Achilles, and the war, from the viewers viewpoint, revolves around Achilles and not Paris, Helen, Menelaus, Hector, Ajax and Agammemnon. No long review from me - I hasten to add here that I never read the Illiad from start to finish nor can I remember the exact details, but as with any Hollywood rendition, this film is of course exaggerated to get the crowds in the door. The action is fantastic, some of the dialogue lacking, the brawn is well worth seeing, and as to the story even if incorrect in places, it is still a great historical epic that does indeed carry through the ages ...
...has some excellent action sequences, and beautiful lines as well as being the hero you empathise with the most. Having long been addicted to everything greek i awaited my chance to see this film with some excitement. Now having finally settled down to see it i am not dissapointed. Achilles is played brilliantly by brad pitt but it is not this greek hero who steals the film. ...need to do is pop Troy on and the fantasy begins.To be fair-if you are a Brad Pitt fan-you cannot go wrong-theres a lot to be said for seeing him dressed in a short skirt, and acting the brave and heroic character of Achilles.Definitely one for the ladies!! ...know about the battle of Troy read a book! This film is just pure entertainment. My only fault with it is that the special effects arent 100% some of the fight scenes where they zoom out and show thousands of solidiers dont look perfect but what the hey they made up for it by hiring Brad Pitt!! (sorry guys!) I think the plot is pretty obvious, its all in the name! Heres a hint, its about the battle of 'Troy' :-) Watch it watch it watch it!! ...
