Troy (Special Edition) (DVD)

Having picked to see Troy last night I was rather dissapointed. Firstly, cineworld f***ed up and accidently started playing adverts half way through the movie. This was, in fact, the most exciting moment of the evening. But now to my point that it was a rubbish film. I might point out that I haven't read the poem or the story behind this. I know very little about it's depiction. I'm rating this solely on the movie. Gladiator was a break through ...
...accurate they can be. Troy doesn't. To me it doesn't have the same epic feel that Gladiator did. It just seems like "another film". It seems like I've seen all this before and none of it was really pushing things forward, I wasn't left thinking "wow, they did a good job replicating that stadium" or anything like that. Troy was definatly the film i was most excited about this year. I first saw the trailers a good 6 months ago, and i am still amazed by the scale of this film.
