My take on Treasure Planet seems to have a more positive spin then a couple of reviews I have read. Let me set my scenario ….It’s Friday my son is off school, and I seem to have a really upset tummy, what to do? Add to plot, my child is a hyperactive child who has a hard time sitting still. Take him to a film? Sounds good to me…but will my boy make it through a movie without us being thrown out? We’ll see. I gave him a choice of Treasure Planet ...

Treasure Planet, pretty much Treasure Island with a futuristic twist, Jim Hawkins off hunting for treasure. A tale of a young man going from a humble background into a much wider world (or Universe in this case) than he is used to and how he survives on his travels. ...version I rented also had a set up mode for 5.1 and THX sound systems to make sure you received the best from the soundtrack, 5 minutes spent tweaking was well worth it. The movie is a modernisation of an old classic set in a futuristic setting, but when a story is so well known you cannot help rate it as predictable, but this is what I enjoyed most – seeing how well it transferred to a new take.
