Disadvantages: nothing realy, unless you look extremely hard, then you may miss the mistakes

...fitting the huge following the transformers have. I have spent the last year buying generation 1 toys I never had as a youngster. ...a child I loved the transformers and so I dragged the little lady to the premier of the big screen movie as soon as it aired. Michael Bay (The Director) does a brilliant job of translating the cartoon into the big screen. ...another, used to play with Transformers - but hey, those were the good days, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being 12 again! I don't know how the writers and the director managed it, but the robots are so incredibly realistic, so extraordinarily likeable and funny, that they simply take over the movie and seem to be more 'alive' than many of the human characters. The most important thing about doing a live action version of a popular animated series is to make it convincing. You couldn't have The Matrix with half hearted special effects (like the poor man's copy, Equilibrium) You couldn't have a modern Batman film without top notch special effects. ...it for months. The whole transformers thing never really appealed to me, having never been interested in any of the old transformers stuff such as the 1986 film or series. an excellent movie, i was intially sceptical as many toys and movies from your childhood are not done justice in modern movies particuarly in mind thunderbirds and the new rocky film. this movie has effectively taken an eighties concept and brought it into the twenty first century with a bang whilst keeping the character of the old transformers. excellent action and graphics would delfinately reccomend.
