...the year that the immortal Toy Story was released. Following in the groove that "Tron" had so neatly eked out, Toy Story went where no movie had gone before. It was the first completely computer generated animation feature film with spectacular results!
Now part of Disney folklore, Toy Story was a co-production of Disney and Pixar studios and released with an element of trepidation. Tron had not been the hit anticipated and the creators worried ...

...Tron, but it was with Toy Story in 1995 that the computer generated film came of age, with the whole thing created by beige boxes and the only human thing being those wonderful voiceovers from Tom Hanks and Tim Allen and the score from Randy Newman. But for a synthetic piece of art, the whole thing was surprisingly humanitarian and moving, capturing the wonder of childhood in a truly remarkable way.
The film was an absolute masterpiece, directed ...

...popularity, however I disagree. Toy Story incorporates comedy, light hearted drama, suspense and fantastic characterisation into 81 minutes.
Woody belongs to Andy, this is evident, his name is written with permanent marker on his cowboy boots which are finished with sparking spears. Woody derives from the Wild west, his mission is to defeat all the bad and support the good. He knows that Andy is his favourite, he takes him everywhere, even tucks ...

Can you believe Toy Story is 9 years old this year? I remember going to watch it when it was released in the autumn of 1995 and being completely blown away by the bright colours, cute characters and the amazingly witty script.
Now you may be wondering why I now choose to write an op on this film well I'll tell you why. About a month ago my sister lent her Toy Story video to my daughter. We have watched little else for the past month! So this is ...

Considering Toy Story on its own you have the best childrens film I can recall. It was made by Pixar Productions which is an innovative company which Walt Disney bought. The techniques used in the making of the film were groundbreaking but in the end it is not the technical excellence that will stay with you, good though it is. No what will stay with you is the sheer exuberant fun in the film.
It does also have a moral and a message which is… ...

The story:
We follow toy Woody, a cowboy figure toy that belongs to child owner Andy. Woody and Andy's other toys including dog Slinky, Mr Potato Head, Rex the Dinosaur, the green army men and little Bo Peep, all live in Andy's room happy together until one day for Andy's birthday he receives a new, more modern toy in the form of Buzz Lightyear - a space ranger and more technical toy than Woody could ever be. Gradually Andy plays ...

Toy Story. I can't believe it was way back in 1995 when Disney (along with Pixar) released this computer animated piece of magic. Since the overwhelming success of Toy Story, Disney (yes, and Pixar) have released Toy Story 2, A Bugs Life, and most recently Monsters Inc. But it was the original Toy Story that burst the boundaries as the first feature-length animation to be completly created by computers.
All toys in the world of Toy Story (maybe ...

Advantages: Excellent CGI rendering Disadvantages: A bit predictable
Toy Story was a big cinema hit in 1995 that boasted some fine computer generated imagery. The film contains the voice talents of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.
The film gives you the idea that when you're not watching, your toys come alive (well it's a wild idea but not easy to prove wrong)
A six-year-old boy named Andy has a vast array of toys. His favourite toy, Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), a wooden, pull string cowboy, is the take charge room leader. ...

Advantages: Funny Disadvantages: Is there any to be seen?
This film has to be one of the best Disney videos ever. The graphics and quality are way ahead of their time and with the interesting story line the film is an obvious hit. Disney has managed to produce a film that the whole family will enjoy and have funny jokes and characters throughout. During the film Buzz lightyear is seen to be one of the most funny characters in a film, his strange behaviour and jokes will make absolutely anyone laugh as he ...

So the new toy. His name is Buzz Light Year and he believes he is the actual Mr light year, not a toy!
So as the film continues we see the evil character. His name is Sid (a boy living next door) and he does not treat his toys with respect. He likes to blow them up with explosives (how he ...

...who started the trend? Well, Toy Story of course, from graphics geniuses Pixar, who later made the wonderful Antz and Toy Story 2. It's a little piece of film history.
But not only this - it's a great film as well. It's the story of the toys of Andy's Room, their life and how it affected by the arrival of a new toy. It's not a new idea - in a similar way to Bagpuss etc., the toys all come to life when no-ones looking. Woody (Tom Hanks) is Andy's ...

What makes this film special is that we get to see into the real world of toys. Here toys can walk and talk and each have terrific personalities. Andy is about to move house and Woody and Buzz nearly get left behind as they are trapped next door in Sid’s ...

Toy Story is suitable for all members of the family and is a great film for children and adults alike! Starring Buzz Lightyear and Woody as the toys in the film, they are both fighting to be Andy's favourite toy. Woody feels left out when Andy chooses Buzz, and so makes a plot to knock him out of the window. But when this happens and the toys accuse him of being some kind of toy murderer he decides to go on a voyage to get his friend back. They meet ...

Buzz thinks he is an intergalactic hero, rather than just a toy which provides many comic moments (and a touching moment when he realises that he is, after all, just a toy). Well worth watching! ...

Woody is the ring leader of all the toys (they come alive when Andy’s not around, if they hear him coming, they play dead).
