Advantages: Great Movie for flying maniacs, and anyone that loves a good story Disadvantages: should be more dog fight scenes
Top Gun is a quality film, staring; Tom Cruise (Maverick) a cocky and arrogant pilot that takes risks to save his fellow pilots and himself and Kelly Mc Gills (Charlie) a civilian instructor of top gun, who is a vibrant person and very stubborn.
The film over all is about a training process in the American air force, 'Top Gun'. Basically the film goes through the tests and trails of the course mainly focusing on two of the top contenders to become ... ...fall in love.
Overall Top Gun is a Quality film for young adults and people alike, with a powerful storyline that has emotional and triumphant feeling to the whole story for time that it was made.
This is one for all the plane spotters all around the globe; every family should own this film! They're hasn't been a film like it before and they're hasn't been one like it since.

Advantages: Action packed, thrilling, great storyline Disadvantages: Doesn't follow the exact truth of the real top gun
In my opinion, Top Gun was the first of its kind in relation to the military drama and action. They used real footage of F-14s and F-5s out in the desert and caught the footage from chase planes and positions on the ground. As well as the film footage of the outside of the planes is, the footage from inside the cockpit(s), are, in my opinion, crappy and unrealistic. Although, given the technology of the time the movie was filmed, the director did ... ...in the show, came from Top Gun. If the scene was supposed to be at night, they changed the lighting in the film to make it seem as if it was taped at night, but really they just took the film shot during daylight for Top Gun and darkened it. The same goes for any scenes where the pilots are supposed to be going against Migs in the t.v. show, they took the old Top Gun F-5 footage and used it instead. The storyline, although entertaining, funny, action ...

Advantages: The abiltiy to say you have actually seen this film and become a member of the privilged ones. Disadvantages: Becoming one of the many millions that love this movie. It's a catch-22 situation really.
...So I did. Top Gun is an entertaining look at the world of the eilte fighter pilot and Tom Cruise shows off his acting talent to the world and is supported by a great cast. Although the plot is pretty weak, it is saved by the quick witted dialogue of the two main characters. There are classic lines in this movie that will be repeated for decades and of course you can't go past the now infamous 'You've lost that lovin' feeling' scene where every girl ...

Advantages: The production of Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson Disadvantages: Kelly McGillis
...rented film of all time, Top Gun nevers seems to disappoint when you push it into the video player and the ever present Danger Zone blasts through the TV speakers. You know you are in for a treat whether it is the 1st time you are watching it or the 27th time. Having some of the most used phrases in film and one of the most famous singing scenes involving Cruise, this film has everything from romance to action. Cruise plays Pete Mitchell, a fighter ... ...Many events happen while attending top gun that cause him to think a career in the airforce is not for him. Many challenges and inner demons are overcome. He is well supported by Anthony Edwards who plays Goose. Kelly McGillis is forgetable in this role. This film launched the career of Cruise and put Bruckheimer and Simpson on the map as Hollywood heavyweights. Not too mention allowed Tony Scott to direct other major features suitable to his talents. ...
