Intro>>>
When Titanic first came out in 1998 I was rather lukewarm to the hype surrounding the film, so didn't get around to watching it until it came out on DVD. Once I watched it my feelings changed completely, and I fell in love with the film and the romance between the two leads. I really am an old romantic at heart. A lot of people are still angry about this Titanic film, claiming that a great tragedy has been turned into a soppy soap opera, ...

...like to shake your hand. Titanic is renowned by many as being a stunning epic, but with the four disc DVD edition, it truly becomes a masterpiece. Everyone knows the short story of the unsinkable ship that hits an iceberg and ironically sinks, however this movie version adds real depth to the renowned tale.
With a smart mix of appealing storyline and historical knowledge, director James Cameron and his team have created a movie that will appeal ...

Titanic might be considered by many as cheesy and overly dramatic, and I have even heard a couple of my acquaintances call it downright stupid. But I can easily admit to the fact that this is one of the exceptionally well done movies that I ever saw. I think that the number of Oscars awards and acclaims that the movie got speak for themselves. I personally love the special effects, as well as the poignancy and intensity of the relationship depicted ...

Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: A couple of technical flaws, but hardly worth mentioning
Titanic is the 1998 multi-Oscar winning film starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio as two of the passengers on board the Titanic as it sank in 1912. The film is directed by James Cameron, and is regarded as the film that launched its leads into superstardom.
What we have here is essentially a very clever notion to use one of the most dramatic and famous events of the 20th Century as a backdrop to a well-crafted romance story, with high class ...

...is another telling of the Titanic disaster in 1912 where over 1500 people lost their lives after the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank. It opens with a deep sea exploration of the Titanic in search of the "Heart of the Ocean" gem. After retrieving a safe all that was found was a drawing of Rose (Kate Winslett) wearing the gem. The now old Rose sees a feature about this on the television and joins the team on the exploration of the Titanic.

Overrated film Review ofTitanic (Special Edition) (DVD)by

Advantages: good storyline Disadvantages: bad attempt at a script, acting could have been better, etc...
...you and tell you that Titanic is one of the most overrated movies of the last century. I remember everyone rushing to watch it in theatres when it first came out, and the amount of publicity it received. I remember the ceaseless chatting about this excruciatingly long movie, and the assurances of how good it must have been. I'm not sure about everyone else though, but when I watched it finally on cable it seemed a bit average to me.
I'm not the ...

...on the front of the Titanic with Jack.
There is also another feature of the alternate 9 minute-ending. This may interest some of you, but for me it was a letdown. I didn't like the ending as it gave away the sense of mystery, however you will have to watch to see if you agree with me.
The length of the film is 186 minutes. Being over three hours you may think it would get extremly boring but due to it's gripping features it is actually possible ...

Advantages: EXTREMELY WELL DONE Disadvantages: May be too tragic at times!
Titanic is an all-time romantic classic! I believe that the main reason why this movie has rightfully earned its numerous awards, praises and acclaims is because not only is the movie based on a real-life tragedy, but it incorperates humor, drama, tragedy, romance, feminist and class issues, among many other themes present in the movie.
Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet who portray Jack and Rose have an on-screen chemistry between them which ...
