Advantages: Better than you might expect
Disadvantages: It's the 80's all over again

...In my case this is the situation with 'stars' such as Martin Lawrence and, more importantly today, Adam Sandler. Sandler hasn't ever done anything to offend me personnaly but his films seemed to appear by the bucket load and the media were constantly 'ooo'ing and 'ahh'ing all over him. This was the first Adam Sandler film I ever watched when it first came out in 1998, I remember my sister having the film on VHS and we used to sit there watching it every time I stayed at her house. The eighties were an ugly decade. I mean really. This was the decade that brought you those pencil-thin ties, shoulder pads and white. Not anything specific that was white. ...helps if you either like the central character, or if you share the joke about him being a bit of a likeable loser. The story, basically a romantic comedy, is all rather predictable, and gets even more so towards the end.
