INTRODUCTION
The “Titanic” is one of the best films that I have ever seen, it is also in my opinion one of the best films that has ever been made. It is a classic and as the song says, “near far wherever you are” the “Titanic” will live in our hearts forever. If film making had been made for the 1990’s it would have been made for this film.
I am not going to sit here and give the film Titanic a bad name even though it was obvious that it contained ... ...so we might not get the whole story, but at least it sums up the horrors, the loss of lives, the terror, the fear, the passion and it is jam packed with emotion. It might have errors in the film, it might warrant criticising, but in my opinion it brought home truths that we might not have otherwise known from not watching the film. Before Titanic was made yes, there were other films of Titanic, but interest in Titanic had died down and it is something ...

...by James Cameron based on the true tragic story of the Unsinkable ship ; Titanic.
The Titanic was a ship sailing from Liverpool (United Kingdom) across the North Atlantic to New York. However on April 14th 1912 , when crossing the Atlantic Ocean , the unsinkable ship hit an iceburg. This caused the ship to sink. There were approx 2,227 passengers aboard the Titanic.

Titanic is essentially a story about people. About the strength of the human spirit. About how nothing really matters when you fall in love - not class or money or anything, save what you feel. In this film, James Cameron weaves a human element through a story we know like the backs of our hands - the Titanic was a big ship: the biggest the world had ever ...

Advantages: Wonderful and refreshing angle to this film Disadvantages: Not to everyone's taste
The mere word Titanic strikes chord in most of our hearts. It appitimises the arrogance of the human race and the devistating tradgedies that such arrogance can incurr, indeed the plight of the classes aboard the Titanic strikes further into our concience as we are forcefully reminded of the inevitable end of the lower class passangers suffered.Quite possibly these thoughts and emotions are subconcious in many of us,but few hear the name without the ... ...What makes this version of the film so different and refreshing is that the story is made from a different angle. Not only are we veiwing the whole tradgedy through the eyes of a survivor, but the tale encorperates the love story in a way which, without trivialising the tradgedy, lightens and embraces the emotions that are under the surface.
In many ways the film concurrs with human nature in finding a posative outcome of the whole saga. There is almost ...

Advantages: A huge, ambitious attempt to recreate the golden age of epic cinema. Disadvantages: It's crap.
...remember rightly, five years ago the world was gleefully waiting for Titanic the movie to sink faster than Titanic the ship. Rumours were rife that it was shaping up to be the most problematic shoot in film history - food poisonings, illnesses, on-set tantrums, injured stuntmen - not to mention the astronomical budget and reports that the director had become an unrelenting megalomaniac. "James Cameron has spent $200 million on a turkey!" - screamed ... ...("Madman Overboard", "Abandon Ship", "Man the Bilge Pumps" etc..etc...) were lining up with tomahawks ready to hack it to pieces and 20th Century Fox were all but ready to declare bankruptcy. Certainly not good omens.
Of course, when the film opened not only did it sail into the history books as the most successful film of all time but bagged Cameron no fewer than eleven Oscars and yet despite all the doom-mongering beforehand, no-one in the entire ...

...I went to see Titanic. The only other films that long that I actually enjoyed were Schindlers List and Lord Of The Rings. What made Titanic so special that it thought it could waste everyone’s time like that? Yes it may be considered a classic now, and yes I may be tempting fate by criticising it but I’m going to do it anyway. Titanic, being an American film about English history is unsurprisingly anti-English though not to the extent of the racist propaganda such as Braveheart or Michael Collins. For anyone who cares to dispute this, take a pen and paper, ...

...known as one if not the biggest blockbuster of all time & if you've seen this magnificent film then no doubt you'll know there's a very good reason for that. This film won a spectacular 11 Academy Awards, amongst them was the Academy Award for the prestigious Best Picture. There have been many versions of this iconic film, one of them made in 1996 starring Catherine Zeta Jones. This version was simply a made for TV version & inevitably was never going ...

Advantages: Great film, sad but true Disadvantages: Too sad
After reading another opinion on the film 'TITANIC' this morning I thought I'd inspire myself and do the same. Somewhere in the families deep collection of videos is the 1997 classic, TITANIC. After watching many films about TITANIC, year after year I never realised that the best was yet to come. When it hit the cinema screens about 5 years ago now, I didn't go and see it, instead waited for the video. I got it on my birthday and remember watching ... ...was the saddest time, but each and every time after that it was still named the saddest film I'd ever watched.
The video that I have was released in 1997 and was produced by James Cameron. The TRUELY based story about the Titanic sinking is so like what was of supposed to of happened that night on the 15th April in 1912 that it's unreal! This is what makes the film so unbelievably good! It's full of tension, hatred and love. The actual real TITANIC ...

...just have to say its the most amazing (if not best) film I've ever seen. The special effects really blow you away and I can only think they must have really sunk a ship. How? I have no idea...maybe they drove it into an iceberg because that was pretty convincing as well.
I'll get to my dodgy little thought a bit later, but firstly the plot. The first thing we see is a sunken ship, COMPLETELY RUINING THE PLOT. Yes. Its Titanic, the year is 1996, ... ...who then agrees to tell the crew her story...the story comes back to this "Old Rose" slant quite a few times and to be honest I find it a bit irritating, and it also really does no joke ruin the end.
Anyway, Southampton 1912, and Rose, played by Kate Winslet unwillingly boards the world's greatest ship for its maiden voyage with her fiance Cal Hockley (Billy Zane). A few 100m away, a game of poker with alot at stake is taking place...a scene which ...

...immediate dislike to it from the start. Leonardo diCaprio and Kate Winslet got more coverage than Factor 20 Sun Lotion, and within a few weeks I was sick of the mention of the film and its co-stars. Furthermore, whenever I saw interviews with Kate Winslet she irritated me to an extent that I just couldn't bring myself to watch the film.
Years later, I have finally watched the film. I must say I am disappointed. Not with the film, but with myself ... ...So now, having seen the film at last, I shall attempt to do the film true justice.
Titanic is one of those films that takes a key event from history, and whilst telling the terrible facts, uses a romantic sub-story to provide a backdrop to the main events. Titanic is a long film - over three hours in total - but the direction and story-telling are such that, rather than becoming bored, I was totally absorbed in the events taking place on screen.

...My next review is on the smash hit blockbuster Titanic, which was directed by James Cameron and starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The film was released in 1997, and was given a classification of PG 13. I remember this because I was only 12 at the time, and went to see it with my parents. There is nothing more embarrassing than sitting with your parents whilst Kate Winslet is getting but naked whilst DiCaprio is drawing a picture of her. ... ...the film and have watched it several times since, one of which included last night. It's got something for everyone I guess, the romantic side for the women, action drama and suspense for everyone. Ive always been a fan of Cameron, he's such a gifted and talented director, his vision and ability to create great films leaves us breathless.
Well it would be foolish to not give a little history lesson about the Titanic, before moving onto the sub plot ...

...hit with many problems during the production. The most well known of these, was the high budget. The film finally came in at around $280 million including marketing costs. James Cameron even gave back his directing fee to help the film along. The only money he made was the script fee. Twentieth Century Fox got so worried about the rising cost of the project, that they sold a lot of the distribution rights to Paramount Studios. ...wasn’t expected to rake back the amount of money that was spent on the making of the film. How wrong could they be! This film was a massive success. I’m sure you can all remember around the time it was released in the US and everyone was raving about it over there and then a couple of months later it was released in the UK and we were bombarded with people saying how good it was and reviews of the film. It’s probably one of the biggest tragedies in history and the ship still lays on the ocean bed where it sank, 89 years ago. A lot of people ask why they haven’t ...

...I didn't see Titanic at the cinema. I didn't even seen its Christmas TV debut. 5 years later and I finally catch up. Story Overview -------------------- Written and directed by James Cameron he approached this tale with an added fictional narrative. The film opens with real footage of the Titanic wreck and ...
