Advantages: Clever twist at the end Disadvantages: Too inconsistent to watch and enjoy twice
...possibly rate as one of the best films of recent years, a young boy, played by Haley Joel Osment, has the ability to "see dead people". The film centers around him as a main character, with Bruce Willis in-tow - both of which are trying to make sense of the boy's extraordinary ability.
Osment takes the part of Cole Sear extremely well, while Willis appears happy to take a back seat. There are no guns, no explosions, little bad language, no smoke-stained ... ...for die-hard Willis fans.
The film concludes with Sear beginning to understand what's happening to him, together with a twist, which, the first time you see the film will make everything you didn't understand throughout the film fall into place.
Sadly, a second viewing is not recommended. If you've seen it once, the second time around you'll find yourself picking out the inconsistencies highlighted by the end-twist. Rest assured there are plenty ...

...it probably won't grab you the way it did me, as so many people have been talking about the plot - you probably know the twist.
Its nice to see Bruce Willis acting in a different role to the usual action films. Olivia Williams looks absolutley great from the previous role I saw her in "Muriels Wedding", and of course shes shed a few stone!!!
The first appearence of 8 year old Haley Joel Osment was spectacular, I think hes the most talented child ...

Advantages: Heart strings pulling storyline and great twist Disadvantages: None
The film starts with what seems to be a mentally ill child now developed into an adult. Bruce being a child psycholigist gets blamed by this man for not helping him when he was younger. This man then shoots Bruce Willis and the film progresses to a few years later. As the film moves on Bruce meets another child and later on the child tells Bruce that he has the ability to see ghosts. This keeps you in susupense as walking dead people come into contact ... ...on a tape recorded with the man at the beginning. Bruce tells the boy to try and talk to them and help them and the boy goes on to do this. Strange truths about some of the people's deaths arise. The boy ends up telling his mother. IF YOU'RE GOING TO SEE THE FILM DON'T READ ON AS I REVEAL THE ENDING!!!!! The twist in this great film comes at the end as before the boy had said that the ghosts don't even know that they're dead. This is understood when ...

Advantages: Thrilling monets. Heart stopping moments. Magical moments. Disadvantages: Not for those faint of heart
The Sixth Sense is something quite spectacular! It is not another 'typical' horror film with loads of gore and meaningless action but something a little less ordinary and more thought provoking! There is surprisingly little special effects which is an advantage as some films just go overboard in this department, losing all sight of the plot. Although this is a suspense movie and not an out and out horror, some scenes will definitely give you nightmares ... ...are cold for no reason. The opening scene is immediately quite frightening and scary, certainly giving an indication of what is to come later on! It does slow down however after this scene but I believe this is intentional because it builds up the suspense to potential heart attack levels. The suprises during the viewing deliver mouth gasping, heart stopping, fear filling moments which will be remembered for a long while. The acting is phenomenal. ...

Advantages: Well acted, suspenseful, scarier than most films Disadvantages: A few saccharine moments, a few untied ends
The Sixth Sense is one of the scariest movies I've ever seen, not because of excess gore or sheer murder, but becuase it's subject matter is just creepy.
I doubt I'll be spiling anything by saying that the film's premise is about a boy who sees dead people. This, in itself, is reason enough for the film to be scary, but like the best thrillers, it relies more on what you don't see than what you do. You'll lose count of the times you see shadows ... ...to feel his fear. Naturally, the film also plays on shock value, with a young boy offering to show where his dad keeps his gun. But when he turns around...
Bruce Willis also shows his skills as an excellent actor. If you thought Willis was the last man that should be cast in a thoughtful, suspenseful film, then you're wrong. After watching this, you'll never think of him in a vest again!
And yes, the film does indeed have a completely unexpected ...

So, what Is the Sixth Sense? Is it a love story? A ghost story, horror or thriller? Well, I wouldn’t call it horror, but I would call it the other 3 all rolled into one. The film star’s Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. Bruce Willis plays a Child psychologist who thinks he has failed his clients in the past, so strives to help Cole Sear (haley) due to this. So, that’s the storyline, but there is a big twist. However, to find out, ... ...gets you emotionally involved in the film, then this is the film for you. The DVD version of the film comes with interviews with the cast and deleted scenes along with other extra’s, but it doesn’t boast an excellent bonus material section as it is mostly the director talking to you!
This film is very good. I could say it was slow in some parts, but it is all necessary to make the film make sense. The ending is brilliant and very unexpected. ...

Advantages: Good acting, nice to avoid blatant horror for something a little more subtle Disadvantages: If you guess the ending not as that good...
...about 10 minutes to realise the huge 'twist' thats supposed to be amazing... Obviously I can't say what that is because if you haven't seen it I might be spoiling the film... well I say might,... I will be spoiling the film.
I know a lot of people have been raving about the Sixth Sense but believe me if you guess the ending or already know it then the film is only an above average psychological thriller. I can agree that the acting is good especially ... ...dead people.
So to the story, award winning child pschyologist (Bruce Willis) throws himself back into his career after being brutally assaulted in his house and it is a little boy Cole to whom he devotes his energies. The film plays out avoiding the recent trend of horror and gore and instead uses suggestion to generate the suspense. As for the ending... All in all certainly worth watching but not quite as good as people seem to believe - especially ...

This is one of my favourite films and i think alot of other people enjoyed it too as it was in the UK Cinema Top 10 for a long time!! ...to stop trying to unravel the denouement in your head before the end and an ingenious plot assures that only the most perceptive will figure it out. I myself can claim to be one of the few who have succeeded. But enough of my boasting, back to the film. His psychiatrist isn’t entirely convinced about this to begin with, but he eventually begins ... ...boy overcome his dread of the spirits which haunt him. In the course of this he improves his relationship with his mother and becomes a more well balanced child. The films young star is very believable and surely a future star. Toni Colette also credibly as ...

Once again I’m going against the grain and I have to say, no I did NOT like this film. Maybe it’s just me but I didn't find it in any way entertaining, intriguing, funny, or even interesting in the slightest. Sixth Sense is the best film I have ever seen, if you did not already no the ending then it is even better. Haley Joel Osment plays Cole very well.
