My Favorite Film of 1999

Advantages: Excellent acting, storyline, atmosphere
Disadvantages: None

I went to see the 6th Sense at the cinema last year, and bought it on DVD as soon as it came out. The trailer for the movie did and still does, send a shiver up my spine every time it is played. And that is the film through and through. It is not scary in the edge of your seat type. There are few shock moments. But it is unnerving. And I like that. I wont say anything on the plot. But it is brilliant. Excellent acting (that Halye Joel Osment is ...

I see...the end a mile off.

Advantages: You won't feel left out when everyone else is talking about it, it is a film you won't forget in a hurry

I know this is going to sound like a cop out, but i don't want to tell you much more about this film, because you really should watch it yourself as i think i'll ruin the story. Suffice to say, it makes you laugh, makes you cry (or want to) and sustains the viewer's interest throughout. The famous suprise ending was the disappointment for me, because i guessed it ...

...know what to expect of the film. It was great that the film makers decided not to give too much away in the trailers. This is not a hard hitting, tough guy action movie. In Sixth Sense, Bruce Willis is a quiet, loving husband in a somewhat different role than the ones you would normally expect to see him in. A brilliant film with an unexpected twist. From the beginning it tells the story of how Bruce meets and is then drawn into helping Haley, a ...

Lots of chilly moments keep you glued to the screen in case you miss something. Haley meets and talks with the dead. Clues are given to him by those that have passed over and as the film unrolls, they are able to find the answers to all their questions. Bruce as always ...

The acting is hollywoods best, both Bruce Willis & Haley Joel fit their parts perfectly (you'd think it was written with them in mind). The best special features include the deleted scenes (the extended ending is a must see, took my breath away), Rules & clues (don't look at these until you've watched it) & then my favorite 'Reaching the audience', where the director & crew explain how they composed the film. The Sixth Sense really re-invented Bruce Willis' career, a very sensible move on his part as he's getting a bit old to keep getting blown up all ...

...has to be one of the most original films in years. Finally something a little different that is worth watching over and over again. Bruce Willis stars as an eminent child psychologist who is attacked in his own home by a former patient. A year later we see him waiting for his newest patient (in the diminutive for of Hayley Joel Osment). After an initial meeting with the boy that doesn't go quite as well as planned. Top marks for this film. The writing was good and the acting was excellent - its ...

Walking Around Like Regular Movies

Advantages: Performances are great as is mostly everything else.
Disadvantages: I feel we could have more of everything in the movie.

The Sixth Sense is anything but a regular movie. Directed by M. Night Shyalaman, the film is engrossing, entertainging and filmed in a very well thought out way. Bruce Willis stars as Malcom, a child psyhcologist, who tries to help young Cole (a superb Haley Joel Osment) who is afflicted with a terrifying gift. Not wanting to spoil the story too much for people who haven't seen the movie (have you been living in a cave?) this is all I shall say ...
...is calm and collected as the doctor, Muriel's Wedding star Toni Collette brings home a good show as Cole's single mother, but it is the young Osment who steals the show as the boy. The main point I would like to make about the whole cast is that every single one of them know and accept that the film is about the boy - and give just about every scene to him. This is not to say Osment does not do this on his own, but it would be very hard to upstage ...

Disadvantages: Um...can't think of any to be honest.

The sixth sense is amazing.! The story is excellent and everyone knows that it has a twist, and that twist is analysed very well in the dvd by the director. The extra scenes are without doubt the best of any dvd out there and the director shows you several scenes that were removed, explains why and leads you through the other key points of the film to truly highlight the cleverness of the whole set-up. The story is about a child psychologist who ...

Simply Awesome

Advantages: Host of special features, awesome film

The cover of the DVD states "A real must see twice film" and that sums it up perfectly. So much so that when I saw it in the cinema several months back, I went back the next day with a group of family and friends to see it again. This is one of those films that leaves you asking loads of questions after seeing it, particularly with the famous "twist ending". Bruce Willis takes to the role beautifully with Cole (Haley Joel Osment) proving to be an ...

...that have a twist to the ending and a brilliant storyline, then this is the one to watch. I'll try not to give too much away in this opinion just in case you havenlt seen it yet, but it stars Bruce Willis as a psychologist type chappy who deals with a patient who can see ghosts, but no-one knows it yet. There are some fairly spooky bits in it, and the whole film revolves around the fact that his patient can see things that he can;t. He has to try ...

The ending to this film blew me away - I had to try and discreetly wipe the tears away in the middle of a packed cinema because the ending was such a surprise to me - although hubby reckoned he'd sussed it all out after 15 minutes or so. A brilliant film with superb acting all round and brilliant effects. I can;t wait to watch it again. ...

The Sixth Sense is a film that stars the young actor who is making a name for himself, this is film has a really good ending, just when you think it’s over it throws a dramatic twist. ...(Haley Joel Osment) some of the acting is brilliant for a child so young. He is becoming a household name. The film has humour and some serious scenes. The humorous scenes are bought about by Cole’s ability to see what is going to happen. Cole successfully overcomes his problems, and in the end learns ways of communication rather being afraid of the people he can see, who happen to be dead people. Anyway to make a mend for the other patient, ...
