Advantages: Everything about the thing Disadvantages: Some people might not like the bits of gore
...first saw this film at the cinema the day after it came out and it scared me whitless!!!However only recently have I got myself a copy of this brilliant film………
The film is based around a little boy called coel(Haley Joel Osmon) and his psychologist(Bruce Willis). Coel at the start of the film just seems weird but as the story goes on more and more of it is unwrapped and you begin to see the horrible truth and that there is really something wrong ... ...him until he to discovers the truth and when it all seems good and well in the film and you think it is all over there is a twist which makes everything else in the film make more sense.
The twist in the film is the icing on the cake of a great film. It makes everything else in the film make sense and makes the film something that you will want to watch again so you can understand why certain things are happening. The twist in this film is sheer ...

...and particularly Haley Joel Osment, The Sixth Sense is a cinematic masterpiece.
The film begins with Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Willis) being shot by a patient (Donnie Wahlberg) he 'failed', after a night out with his wife. A year and a half later, now no longer speaking to his wife, he meets a new patient, a seemingly normal but intelligent boy named Cole Sear (Osment), who particularly reminds him of his former patient. However, Cole has an unusual gift ... ...throughout, it is not until the end you realize quite what all the fuss is about. Up until then, the film is alright, but would only deserve to be labelled average. It takes a genius to be able to turn around a whole film and change the audience's perspective at last gasp, but director Shyamalan somehow manages it here.
After watching the film for the first time last week, it soon became obvious as to why Bruce Willis took a pay cut to make this ...

...While most of us have the five main senses, young boy, Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) possesses an extra sixth enabling him to view ghosts. These ghosts walk around like regular people, unaware of the fact that they are dead. Child psychologist, Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) arrives, determined to help Cole, after he failed to cure a young patient with a similar condition years before. With help from Crowe, we discover the reasons why the ghosts need ... ...involving the bonds and relationships made between characters, such as Cole and Crowe, and Cole and his mother, played by Toni Collette, who features as Muriel in ‘Muriel’s Wedding’. There is a great twist to the story towards the end of the film, which of course I shall not explain, as this may ruin the story for people who have not yet viewed the film, although, the film would still be great. After watching the film once, there ...

If you haven't already seen the film go away now..... Right we've got rid of them, so when did you guess the plot twist? Was it the meal with his wife, the scene in the hospital or not until the very end? Or were you like me and guessed it when he got shot at the beginning after every review you had read said there was a big twist and in the trailer the kid keeps saying he sees dead people. It is to the credit of the film that this doesn't effect ... ...The main problem for films 'with a twist' is that it’s hard to keep the twist a secret, especially with the Internet where it is easy to find storylines of films within hours of its release. This didn't happen with the sixth sense, meaning the takings actually increased after the first weekend of release. This brings you to the other main problem for films with a twist in that the film loses some of its impact after the first viewing, for example ...

Advantages: The famous twist, superb acting from Wills and Osment, strong sense of moral in the story Disadvantages: Would have been nice to have seen 'the gift' used a bit more
...to expect when I bought The Sixth Sense on DVD. Having been told by so many people how great it was, but having never seen it in the cinema, I hopped along to my local MVC knowing that I could take it back should I dislike it.
Needless to say, The Sixth Sense has firmly stayed with me ever since I got it home and eagerly unwrapped it and stuck it into the player. All I had really heard was that it was a film about ghosts. The 15 Certificate immediately ... ...involved in it somewhere along the line.
The acting in this film is superb. Willis truly shows that he has more in him than 'Die Hard'. He plays the part of Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a celebrated child psychologist. The movie begins and we understand how Dr. Crowe failed to help one particular boy overcome his disorder - with tragic consequences. Shortly after, Crowe meets Cole (stunningly performed by Haley Joel Osment - Possibly the only child actor ...

Advantages: Twist in the plot, has great moments, good acting. Disadvantages: Can confuse you.
The Sixth Sense is about eight year old Cole Sear (Osment). Cole sees dead people. He meets with Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a renowned child psychologist. Crowe (Willis) tries to help Cole while helping himself. It is the number one grossing thriller of all time. With grosses nearing $300 million, the DVD release was going to be an “event.” I'd experienced this movie in the theater and liked the movie. With the DVD, I was hoping that I'd be getting ... ...is very good. There were the supplements that I expected, too. There isn't a commentary track by director M. Night Shyamalan, my only real disappointment. Night does show up in most of the short features in the special features.
The transfer of The Sixth Sense Miramax has delivered is very good. It's an anamorphic transfer to boot! There is very little artifacting noticeable and very little graininess or pixelation. The flesh tones were good, acceptable ...

Advantages: Very Innovative, Osment excels Disadvantages: None I felt
This is the story of a very sad and a deeply disturbed little boy Cole Sears (Haley Joel Osment). His parents are divorced. He misses his father very much. He wears his glasses, with no lenses, to feel his nearness. He asks "did you ever feel the prickly things on the back of your neck?". He says "that's them" . Cole is referring to the ghosts, which he can actually see. He doesn't want to see them, but can't get away from them. He sees the restless ... ...only when he goes to the church where he plays with his toy soldiers. Written and directed by M Night Shyamalan, The Sixth Sense is an example of excellent filmmaking. It is not a ghost or horror movie, because it allows a human warmth to pervade the drama, without sacrificing the potential for horror. It has, in fact, many chilling and frightening situations, yet, Shyamalan prefers to describe the agony, fears and the helplessness of a little boy, ...

Advantages: Gripping, great cast, good performance, amazing ending Disadvantages: none that I know
Oh! The movie was so unlike any other horror movie. I am perplexed whether the movie can be rated in a "horror" genre, or whether it fits in the genre "thriller and Crime" where the topic is posted on CIAO. Any which ways, I found the movie quite thought provoking.
There were many reasons why I wanted to watch it. Firstly that the director's name Shyamalan, sounded Indian. Well he does have Indian connection and yes, he had a screen presence in ... ...intrigued by Sixth sense - the concept. The third being many of my colleagues who saw it raved about the ending and that it's a must see. The curiosity was beyond a point where I could curb it no more. The first scene of the movie was intensely powerful in its aim of telling me, and others around, that you should sit tight till the end. The movie then had its gripping moments, though it did seem slow after the great start. But I like the way the ...

Tagged as the “must-see twice film” and if you’ve seen it once you’ll know why! If you haven’t seen it at all though, you are most definitely missing out. The story begins with Malcolm (Bruce Willis), a child psychiatrist, ... ...see dead people”… which is the beginning of an unbelievable chain of events.
There is a brilliant cast including Donnie Wahlberg ( of New Kids on the Block fame) and Toni Collette. This is very much a character-driven piece which is unusual for such a huge blockbuster, but the performances from all of the actors are so fantastic that it is clear to see why the film was a massive success. The DVD has quite a few features: Storyboard to ...

...heard about it from friends, the Sixth Sense became one of the surprise hits of the year when it opened at cinemas, bringing with it some excellent acting, directing and plot twists, but more on that later.

I can not emphasise the brilliance of this film enough. It teaches us to be more self-aware and friendly towards other people whilst presenting an amazing story with exceptional acting and values.
I first watched this film after I had heard a good review of it on an MTV programme based all about movies. I hadn't had chance to see it at the cinema, and so was determined to do so on DVD. I was impressed by the number of times I went to rent it out ... ...actually sat down and watched the film. It is not only involving throughout, but interesting and entertaining as well.
The film tells the story of a young boy who claims that he can see dead people walking about, which is obviously disturbing him pyschologically and mentally as it is affecting the way in which he views things. It is not scary, but does feature some disturbing thoughts and scenes and so the '15' certificate is appropriate for the ...

Advantages: Great acting and a great twist Disadvantages: May be a little gory for some
I was first introduced to the directing of Shyamalan in the popular children’s video ‘Stuart Little’. Fairly impressed with his style I succumbed to my husband’s wishes and bought the Sixth Sense DVD; I am not a fan of Bruce Willis, generally not liking ‘thriller’ type movies so I was skeptical about this movie expecting an action type movie.
Shyamalan writes and directs the movie, and perhaps due to his skill ... ...getting six Oscar nominations as the movie became a surprise hit.
Bruce Willis plays Dr Crowe, a child psychologist who feels he is a failure when a former patient tries to shoot him and then commits suicide. Cole Sear (played by the up and coming child actor Haley Osment) is similar to the patient who committed suicide; Dr Crowe’s former patient was a childe when he treated him.
Cole is having hallucinations and seems to be troubled ...

Advantages: Good Extra’s, Good Film Disadvantages: Absolutely none
The Sixth Sense is an exceptional film, I think its truly great and will remain something I regard highly for quite sometime. It was recommended to me by fellow workers, and although I was told a lot about it, (just enough, in fact, to ruin the film) I still found it brilliant.
The Sixth Sense concerns a child psychologist, Dr. Malcolm Crowe (played by Bruce Willis), who at the beginning of the film, has his house broken into by a man who he treated ... ...shoots him, and then himself. The next autumn, Malcolm meets up with a child, Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) who has a similar problem as the man before, if Malcolm can help Cole then it might make up for his previous failure. Cole however, has a special power, and something that is hard to believe, he can see the dead, everywhere, all the time, and what’s more they talk to him. Its a rather sad film, until you reach the end, with two or three ...
