Advantages: Edward Norton, Montreal Disadvantages: Marlon Brando
...everyone else.
Scenario three is easily the most common one seen in films, and The Score is a relatively unoriginal example.
Nick Wells is an ageing thief and a master in his field, who is deeply in love with the beautiful Diane. From his home in Montreal, Wells continues to execute brilliant robberies but is reaching the age when he wants to retire and take it all easy. His best friend and Fence, Max, one day brings up the matter of a priceless ...

Advantages: Well made, good cast Disadvantages: Story not new...
The score is a well-made but fairly typical Hollywood heist movie. It relies on a complex plot and the interaction of the characters to maintain your interest in the story rather than overblown action set pieces. What makes the film more than just average is the presence of three excellent actors that between them represent three generations of film acting. Marlon Brando arguably the best actor of his generation in the 50’s and 60’s, Robert De Niro ...

Advantages: A very entertaining film Disadvantages: None
The Score
Robert De Niro - Nick Wells
Marlon Brando - Max
Angela Bassett - Diane
Edward Norton - Jackie Teller
Without giving too much of the plot away, the story is basically a successful thief, Nick, is looking to retire from crime, run his jazz club and spend his nights with his girlfriend Diane. His fence, Max, comes up with one last big score. It is high risk, but big bucks. Max is convinced it will work as he has a man on the inside, ...

Advantages: good cast, well shot, entertaining Disadvantages: slow pace will deter some people, nothing new
A glance at the poster for the score and you instantly have something sold to you without even knowing what the film is about. The names De Niro, Norton and Brando as well as Angela Bassett should be enough to at least peak your interest. Not only that but it's directed by Yoda/Fozzy Bear himself Frank Oz!
Now these names along have already affected people's perceptions of the film. With a cast of great talent it seems that we should get one of ...

Advantages: A chance to see three of the best actors ever, together. Disadvantages: See opinion.
The Score undoubtedly wins the unnecessary film award and deserves to be remembered only for bringing together the three best method actors of their generations, namely; Brando, De Niro and Norton. I call the film unnecessary, because why on earth do we need another crime/thriller movie with Brando or De Niro when we already have The Godfather, Casino and Goodfellas to name a few. The Score just covers old ground and doesn’t even do it that ...

Advantages: Three huge stars from three generations brought together. Disadvantages: Lacklustre performances, Hugely disappointing extras...
...I settled back to watch The Score in something approaching pant-wetting anticipation. Headlining is the increasingly eccentric Marlon Brando, the unquestionably brilliant Robert de Niro and the most promising young star on the scene, Ed Norton, in a heist movie directed by Yoda (well Frank Oz the man responsible for the little green Jedi’s voice anyway). So it was some 123 minutes later that I sat, more than a mite dismayed, as the end credits rolled.
Before ...

Advantages: Di Nero, Norton, Brando Disadvantages: Script - Cheese
...recently read one review in the newspaper (not sating who wrote it but the paper was the London Evening Standard) that raised a few issues about the film.
The impression from the article was that it was not very good, hat he actors were wasted and that the whole thing was a drab little affair with not much enjoyment to behold.
I don't like all Hollywood films - they are movies - escapism not "films" in the sense of Citizen Kane or 2001 and the like ...

Advantages: It kills a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon Disadvantages: If your viewing this you may be missing a better film elsewhere
...somewhat lack in some of the thrills and spills that you might expect from the previews. In summary the film is about one final heist by old hand Robert de Nero, and a would be newcomer. Robert de Niro is persuaded to do just one last job (not an unfamiliar theme in the film world) before retiring from the criminal world.
The actual heist is quite clever, and the way it is executed is plausible. Unfortunately, the film as a whole was lacking in ...

Advantages: Some good performances and good main character interaction Disadvantages: Marlon Brando, and poor (overly neat) ending
The score features the expected class performances from DeNiro and Norton and the equally expected ham form Brando.
Set against the background of the titled ‘Score’ this film is about the relationship between Norton’s character a very competent but risk taking thief who is out for the big hit and a life of luxury. Compare this to DeNiro’s character (Nick) who never takes a risk, works away from home and makes life as safe ...

...to a legendary product like The Godfather and then you’d expect this film to somewhat great, well its not, the score is a good viewable and entertaining movie but nothing it should’ve or could’ve been considering the cast.
It includes a great plot in which Robert Is a Master Criminal who’s veteran carrier has left him harrowed, now you wouldn’t relate the words, professional, discipline and procedural to a criminal profession but that’s exactly ...

The score opening sets the tempo for the entire movie - Robert De Niro doing what he does best - playing the cool calm and collected safecracker who who almost gets caught while breaking into a nightclub safe, keeping the audience right on the edges of their seats. The cast is excellent, featuring De Niro, along with Edward Norton in top form and a slightly dilapidated Marlon Brandow. After this opening sequence, De Niro looks to settle down and retire ...

Advantages: DeNiro and Norton Disadvantages: Can't think of any
The Score has a great ensemble cast. Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton, Marlon Brando, and Angela Basset. Brando and Basset aren't in much of the movie, just a scene here and there. DeNiro and Norton are in all most all of the movie.
DeNiro is a thief. When the movie starts he is breaking into a safe during a party. He is almost caught by a couple that goes into that room for some privacy, but he gets away with the diamonds he was after. You see how ...
