Advantages: You Get To See Mel Gibson Disadvantages: Not Action Packed Like Some Of His Other Films
...After watching this film on the television on Saturday prompted me to write this review. I do own the film and also every one of his others.
If you have seen his other films then this is a little different, not his usual mad or fighting self, but much more tame on that scene.
This is one thing that I like about this film, it comes under the heading of Drama, and really is a film that you can sit down on a sunday afternoon with the family and watch. ... ...a delightful change.

The Story

Set in the Midwest Usa, tells the story of Tom Garvey (Mel Gibson), Mae Garvey (Sissy Spacek) and there two children.
The story tells of the struggles and strifes of a young farming family.
They have a bad harvest, a river which overflows and a businessman played by Scott Glen who tries to bring in some sort of modernisation in by building a dam that will only make the flooding a lot worse.
