The Nun's Story (DVD)

This is a wonderful movie with the beautiful Audrey Hepburn as a young woman, the daughter of an eminant doctor, who becomes a nun and a nurse. She struggles to fulfil her own ideal of what a nun should be and finds it difficult to put her life as a nun before her life as a nurse. She travels to the congo to nurse, and becomes highly respected by the locals and whites alike. There is a violent death in this part which may not be suitable for young viewers. She explains to a non-christian that christians forgive, after the murder of a nun, but finds she can not do it after the murder of her father by the Nazis, and her faith is tested to the limit. ...

...Nun who in fact entered the convent and was sent to the missions in the Belgian Congo . However this movie, depicts the period before world war 2 and then during. Its about the struggle of a vocation between the cloistered life and the world. It shows you how hard the life of a Nun within convent walls was and still is for many people and orders.
