...brilliant. For me, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is a perfect example of a brilliant film. Not only is the story exceptionally original, the action plentiful, and the animation just amazing, but it is one of those few films which you can truly call beautiful.
So just what is The Nightmare Before Christmas? Well, if you don’t know, you must have been living in a cave for the past two decades. The Nightmare Before Christmas is a brilliantly ...

...you begun…’ So begins The Nightmare Before Christmas. Another treat from the wonderful mind of Tim Burton the film remains a great view for the festive period but also for a film to dip into all year round. When it was released in 1993 it was met by critical acclaim but unfortunately faired quite badly at the box office. Obviously people were put off by the thing that makes it so wonderful – it being an un-typical Christmas film. Despite this it built ...

"T'was a long time ago, longer now than it seems, in a place that perhaps you've seen in your dreams. For the story you are about to be told took place in the holiday worlds of old. Now, you've probably wondered where holidays come from, if you haven't I'd say it's time you begun."

Advantages: Tim Burton Disadvantages: none - we love it
...Tim Burton is set in the scary world of Halloween where ghosts and ghouls are everyone's favourite. It was first written as a poem by Burton inspired of course by The Night Before Christmas written by Clement Clarke Moore which we will all be familiar with to some extent. His characters appearances were inspired by the Dr Seuss story books which were a favourite of Burtons.
It is all about Jack Skellington the Pumpkin King who organises the Halloween ...

...“bag”, I had in mind the little plastic one my mum takes out every morning to collect her dogs’ little messages off of the pavement. Every year some new travesty about wise-cracking kids or talking animals invades the box-office, making a mint out of the season of good will and dumb adherence to holiday tradition.
And then there’s Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Released by Touchstone Pictures, the “adult” arm of Disney, on Halloween ...

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas:
Special Edition DVD
Introduction
The tagline for The Nightmare Before Christmas was: "A ghoulish tale with wicked humour and stunning animation"; I hardly think that does this truly classic masterpiece justice.
I first watched The Nightmare Before Christmas in 1993, (the year it was released), when my Mum got it for me to keep me occupied on Christmas eve. I have been a huge fan ever since and ...

...film is a cinematic masterpiece. The juxter-position of is flawless stop-motion photography and beautiful sound track leave the viewer wanting to watch this film again and again. Its story is reminiscing of the old films Burton loved as a child, such as ‘The Grinch who stole Christmas’ but its image is based more on film that only now students and film buffs may have watched ‘The Cabinet of Dr Caligari’. Like Dr Caligari Burton uses fantastic design ...

Advantages: A very unique xmas tale Disadvantages: Not advisable for lovers of a traditional Christmas story
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a masterpiece from Tim Burton. Although it may not be one of his best known productions, this animation film really is a brilliant example of Tim Burton's bizzare imagination.
The setting for this unusual tale of Christmas is Halloweentown. There, we meet Jack Skellington, Pumpkin King, leader of an array of ghoulish characters who spend every single day preparing for the activities of October 31st, each year striving ...

Advantages: The great songs and fantastic animation Disadvantages: Doesn't last long enough!
Sorry about the awful title by the way!
This animated film from Director Tim Burton has gathered a kind of cult following since its release in 1993, especially within the goth community. Its creepy, skeletal look is truly unique, and its fair to say that this is one of my favourite films ever! It's actually directed by Henry Selick rather than Burton himself, but he wrote it and produced it, and stamped his mark of dark humour all over it. It was ...

...an excellent family musical animation. The precursor to Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride" (although similar in genre not linked in story) this film is actually better. Both are magical, musical stop motion films meant for the whole family, but this film has better, catchier songs and is generally superior.
For those who do not know what exactly "stop motion" is I will explain. It is a technique where actual puppets or models are made of the characters ...
