Advantages: interesting to see how the show developed, the pilot episode Disadvantages: not the best series for a casual fan to buy, Muppet morsels can be annotying, no listing of episodes
...about my favourite TV show The Muppets again. Disney (unfortunately) have bought out my beloved fuzzy puppets and to make their money's worth they have started to release box sets of the Muppet seasons. My old video box set ;s quality was starting to deteriorate due to overuse so I thought I would treat myself to Season One of the Muppet Show on DVFD when I saw it in the Amazon sale or a fantastic £17.99. The box set contains four DVDs and a whopping ... ...the Muppet Show ran for 24 episodes and was first shown in 1976 and 1977.
The Muppet Show was a take on the variety shows that used to be on TV such as Sunday Night at the Palladium.. Advantages: The beginning of the ultimate variety show Disadvantages: Not quite as polished as later series'
...little too young to recall the original series, so this box set gave me the opportunity to see the early shows for the very first time.

Advantages: the Muppets - what more u need? Disadvantages: extras a little lacking
...Even though I loved the Muppets, I was sadly disappointed by the "extras", which were just commentary audio tracks to be played while the show was running. In my opinion, that took away from the show itself, although you can learn some interesting things while doing this (I won't spoil it for people who have not gone through this box set as yet).
Picture quality of the "digitally remastered video" is of course amazing (I could see where they stitched ... ...- or can remember (with the only exception of Murphy Brown) which made it feel dated, somewhat, but other than that, it was a very entertaining, funny show - it is still funny, with Fuzzy Bear's running gags, Kermit and Ms. Piggy's numerous quarrells, Ralph's "Pediatric Surgeon who has gone to the dogs" bit and the ballroom scenes...
However, I would recommend watching this with your children, since children can interpret certain things differently ...
