Advantages: One of the best, most bizarre comedies on TV Disadvantages: Features are disappointing
"Hip, sexy and magical" says The Times. "Morecomb and Wise reinvented by Lewis Carroll" says The Independent. These two reviews can only be describing the fantastic Mighty Boosh, written by and starring Julien Barratt and Noel Fielding. It's one of the funniest, most bizarre and original comedies on TV at the moment, and I love it! I could talk about it for days but I'll try and keep this review (fairly) concise. Basically, for those who don't know, ... ...revolves around the adventures of two zookeepers: Vince Noir, King of the Mods (Fielding, the one with the long hair) and Howard Moon, Jazz Maverick (Barratt, who you may recognise from Nathan Barley). The "Zooniverse" at which they work is not your regular zoo, as it is home to a Shaman called Naboo (played by Noel's brother, Michael) and a semi-talking gorilla called Bollo; and run by the downright bonkers Bob Fossil (played by Rich Fulcher). Each ...

Advantages: great comedy, eight episodes, hours of fun Disadvantages: not everyone taste
The Mighty Boosh are a British comedy group made up of Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding, Rich Fulcher, Bollo, and Michael Fielding. They are a cult comedy show that originally started on stage displaying their crazy and often psychotic comedy and plots. They soon made it to the television with two series on the BBC. The name apparently comes from a remark that Michael Fielding’s friend made about his once curly hair where he referred to it as the ‘Might ... ...stuck. In all the episodes there are the five main characters Howard Moon played by Julian Barratt who is lonely, sad, he’s the jazz man. He works alongside Vince as a zoo keeper in series 1 and a failing and awful musician in series 2. Often Howard is the victim who gets rescued by Vince and his glorious situations always end in embarrassment.
Vince Noir (Noel Fielding) is the cool one with ‘Mod’ hair and is a hit with the ladies. He is laid back ...

Having seen copies of the Mighty Boosh in HMV for months on end, and growing annoyed by not knowing what it was exactly, I decided to rent the Mighty Boosh series 1 about 3 months ago, and bought the series shortly afterwards, and now I will attempt to try and explain what the Boosh is. -So, What is The Mighty Boosh?-
The Mighty Boosh is a British sit-com, created by the stand-up double act, Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt. The Mighty Boosh is ... ...with off-beat, no-punchline humour and the odd song and dance routine. The Mighty Boosh takes place on a magical planet, inside a Zoo called the Zooniverse. The two main characters, a wannabe pop star with brilliant hair, Vince Noir (Noel Fielding) and a refined and self important jazz fan, Howard Moon (Julian Barratt) work as zoo keepers. Their duties at the Zoo often get ignored as the pair set out on unwitting adventures each episode, ranging ...

The Mighty Boosh is one of the most unusual comedies to ever be shown on tv. Wacky, crazy, often quite disturbing, but always brilliantly funny, the show is written by and also stars comedians Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding. Advantages: Post-modern, beautifully shot, hilarious. Disadvantages: Only 4 episodes have commentary
The Mighty Boosh are Julian Barratt and Noel Fielding, and this series is their first foray into television. Previously Perrier Award winners for their Mighty Boosh stage show, these veterans of the Edinburgh Festival have practised their moves on the BBC Radio 4 crowd before being unleashed on BBC Three.
The show focuses on two zoo keepers: Howard Moon (Barratt) - a slightly unsure, self-deluded (supposedly) intelligent individual, Britain's leading ... ...He is king of the mods, mates with Gary Newman, was brought up by Brian Ferry (or possibly Terry Wogan), is obsessed with Mick Jagger and can talk to the animals (he's like Mowgli - the Retro version).

The mighty boosh is one of the best new comedy shows for the last few years. The season 1 boxset introduces you to the main characters along with some hilarious sub characters. It is quite a refreshing comedy style as its new and different and you definately should give it a try. There are some brilliant ... ...for along time afterwards. The characters are lovable and have contrasting styles that leaves a strong comedy partnership to rival those throughout history. The series isnt for everyone however. Some will find it simply odd and annoying. If you are picky about what you like then you may want to catch an episode on TV before you commit to buy. The series is not offensive though and basically a delight to watch and for the easy going who are open to ...
