Is this the best film ever?
Review of The Matrix DVD by KingHerrod

Advantages: Special effects, great plot, free thinking attitude
Disadvantages: None

...film is set far in the future after war between men and machines, in which the machines could think for themselves. (Ala Terminator.) The machines won, and needed power (after the sky was scorched) so harnessed humans in fields of production to provide that energy. To keep the humans minds occupied they planted them in a computer generated world called the Matrix. This world was twentieth century USA and the humnas inside the Matrix, have no idea ... Dont think you are know you are.
Review of The Matrix DVD by Snoopin

Advantages: Superb special effects, imaginative story, overall great film
Disadvantages: None

The Matrix is an artificial world created by intelligent machines pulled over the eyes of every human being to blind them from the truth, that every one is born into slavery and used to power the machines like batteries. Well thats the idea in the film anyway which is about a man who lives 2 lives,1 as Mr Anderson who works for a respected computer company and another in computers where he goes under the name of Neo. He has been searching for an answer ... Read review

The matrix is WOW
Review of The Matrix DVD by slyfox

Advantages: Excellent action. Cunning story
Disadvantages: Not much guys

The Matrix it must be said was a groundbreaking masterpiece. Its stunningly couragous graphics and purely sublime photography stunned audiences around the world. Watching the film again yesterday, I bagan to relise not only rhe depth of graphically enhanced material within the film, but the superiority of depth and the sheer complexity of each scene. Take for example the scene where Reeves, after just taking the red pill is transported to his human ... Read review

The door knocks, a bunch of clubbers have come to pick up their illegal software, they ask him to go with them and he hesitates, that’s when he sees a tattoo of a white rabbit on the girls shoulder…. He follows. Thinking that all this is rather strange, he’s at the night-club and can’t figure out why… or how the message appeared. Standing in the darkened room, he’s ... Read review

Storyline All of his life Thomas Anderson who has an alias neo has wondered about what his whole life really is all about and what is this thing called the matrix is. Cyberschlock
Review of The Matrix DVD by dadmancat

Advantages: Solid performances, great special effects
Disadvantages: Not as clever as it thinks, too smug by half

I remember rushing to the cinema to see this, barely noticing the mammoth sized Sean Connery cut-out head that was promoting Entrapment, whilst I stood eagerly in the queue. How could so much hype be wrong? Well, for me at least, it was. I even bought it on DVD to try and convince myself that perhaps there was something i was missing. Nope. A triumph of style over substance, this film is just nowhere near as clever as it thinks it is. Yes, it has ... Read review

one of the best films ever
Review of The Matrix DVD by Iva_Biggin

Advantages: Supurb effects
Disadvantages: a bit difficult to understand

...said that Star Wars set the benchmark for Special FX...that is no longer true. The Matrix will spawn a hundred inferior copycat films and (hopefully) 2 sequels of it's own. This is intelligent use of Special FX in a mind-blowing and stunningly original way rather the "for the sake of it" SFX. Fittingly this film swept the board in the technical awards at the Oscars sending George Lucas home without a prize for a Star Wars film for the first time. ... Read review

Who am i to tell you whats going to happen
Review of The Matrix DVD by ts757

Advantages: woah, a kwolitee film for once.
Disadvantages: sometimes too much to take in.

Lets look at the big picture. You go out, you see a film. You like the film. You go to the store and buy it, thinking you'll watch it again and again. It stays in the cupboard collecting dust. You watch it once, when you buy it. What is the Matrix? Well, its one of the few films that doesnt fit this life cycle. It truly is a film to be watched again and again. Admitedly, it does loose some of it mystery and charm when it's re-watched, and some flaws ... Read review

Welcome to the real world
Review of The Matrix DVD by Tyler-Durden

Advantages: Special effects
Disadvantages: None

What is The Matrix ? Its one of the best pieces of Sci Fi Action to hit DVD ever. Neo (Keanu Reeves), leads a dual life, during the day he is a program writer for a respectable software company, at night is the hacker Neo on an endless search for The Matrix. Indeed he does lead a dual life as does all of humanity in this film. AI has grown to such an extent that it has imprisoned the human race to use there bio energy as a power source, The ... amazing special effects!
Review of The Matrix DVD by spicy84

Advantages: it's what you call entertainment
Disadvantages: being on widescreen

I heard all the media hype about the matrix and so i wanted to see it for myself .I wasn't expecting much because the media usually really overate the not so good films .I was a bit dissapointed that it was widescreen because it is so much more effective watching a film on full screen .I was amazed by the special effects, they really were outstanding .The shattering of glass looks really realistic on dvd infact most of this fictional film seemed to ... DVD top of the line.!
Review of The Matrix DVD by jimstrong

Advantages: The dvd is amazing, as is the film
Disadvantages: none really

The Matix is a film of genious. The special effects tht are used in it are pioneering and simulate the Japenese manga animation where the camera spins around a subject while the subject is held in mid-movement. The process is called bullet-time photography, and is amazing. The DVD itself is one of the best on the maket after The Sixth Sense. There are a series of very impressive interviews explaining the best parts of the film and how bullet-time ... Read review

Outstanding Science-Fiction
Review of The Matrix DVD by grahamgibson

Advantages: Fantastic film, one of the most feature rich DVD's available.
Disadvantages: Some extra computer features will only play on a DVD not a Mac & some DVD decks can't access all the features.

"What is the Matrix?". This is a question that is often asked during the film and once you've seen it you'll know the answer. The Matrix is the most oustanding and engaging science-fiction movie since Blade Runner. I've lost count of the number of times I've watched this film and yet it never fails to absorb my attention completely. There aren't many films that manage to achieve such a perfect balance in terms of story, settings, cast, special effects, ... Read review
