...complicated. I had to stop the film several times, in a vain attempt to understand it. I didn't really like how it was so computerised with advanced technologie as i'm not a great computer finatic. There was some parts that were pretty gruesome, and others that were sad, so it was quite a mixed film. The Matrix asks it's viewers a lot of philosophical questions on the meaning of existence. Can you believe that your life is in fact real or just a construct to fit in with your mental make up. Can we really be sure that everything we see, hear touch and smell can be a physical reality, does it matter if it isn't. The Matrix is THE DVD as far as I'm concerned. Its presented in a very professional way with parts of the movie running behind the menus and looks very slick. I must of seen it more than 10 times and I'm definitely going to watch it again. Theres plenty of extras including how 'bullet time' is made. The film itself is a real 'make you think' one. What is the Matrix ? This is the question asked in the film. My reply would be - The Matrix is mind trippingly brilliant. I bought it on DVD and as an avid fan of Keanu Reeves I watch it over and over. You have to to be able to take in all of the breath stealing special effects and the storyline. ...not that good. And yes the story was quite good although completely stupid. But it wasn't even nearly as good as i thought and wanted it to be. The acting was extremely poor especially by Keanu Reeves who was wooden and failed to be shocked enough when finding out the world as we know it isn't real. ...this ousted Star Wars from the number one spot for an original top quality scifi movie which was a tough thing to do. The ball breaking soundtrack and totally new outlook on the "future" totally leaves me standing. The biggest downer about this film are the sequals which are a let down. The matrix was released in 1999 as a sci fi film, and has had two sequel films, (Matrix reloaded) and (Matrix revolutions). Keanu Reeves player Neo aka Mr. Anderson a computer hacker and office worker. Yeah he's quite fit. The film was ok too. Of course some mates of mine who will remain nameless still continue to wank over it. It was ok. not fantastic. Not brilliant. I didn't think the storyline was that good. And the acting. well. The special effects, from the little or nothing I know about special effects were good I suppose. Dont belive the hype This is a good film. It is NOT a great film. Straight from the beginning when we realise that they are looking for the ONE and we meet our "Hero" NEO. Its not a great puzzle for any anagram solver to realise the ending. Yes the special effects are good, but it seems to be the same 2-3 effects repeated over and over. ...Star Wars 1 & said the Matrix was better all i can say is thay cant of seen ether film. The only good thing about the Matrix film is its kind of Origanle & the spacial Efects were good but not that good. The film its self i found boring it was like blade runner(Which is boring but good) & the Trueman show in a way.
