In general, action films go something like this: Good looking hero/heroine has to save world from evil baddie, who often wants to destroy world for no particular reason. The main advantage of having a DVD over a VHS is that it comes with the extra features. This DVD has tons of them. Right from the very first scene, the special effects, music, storyline and acting is so compelling that it has you instantly addicted. This is the future! This is simply the best DVD of its time. It beats the video format hands down. The movie is excellant. It makes science fiction cool. The characters and special effects ooze coolness. The storyline is gripping and dynamic, and is very original. The DVD is more expensive than the video, but the features on the DVD are outstanding. There are simply loads. From subtitles, commentary, no dialogue/just music, documentaries and chapters ...
...in the film and the whole MATRIX website on disc... including art work.... this DVD is massive. It was well worth the money, and blows the video format out of the water. I recommend it to any fan of the movie. On the negative side, the movie does try to get philasophical in places, then neglects to answer the question -- is it better to live a lie, then live in the real world?
