...am a huge fan of the first Matrix film (I must have seen it many, many times) and I was eagerly awaiting the latest release. So finally it was released and I rushed to the cinema on the very morning of its first day. £9.50 later I was sitting in the cinema, popcorn and coke ready. I wanted to love it, I really did.

This time though we are introduced to some more characters and we get to see a lot more of this underground society of Free Minds and their city, Zion. As we enter the film our heros and their society is facing a huge problem - the AI is ...

The Matrix was THE film of the twentieth century, and untill Mr.Potter came along 2 years ago and mucked things up, was the biggest film that Warner Bros had released... ever! ...movies and then there is The Matrix Reloaded. There are few movies one can look back upon and say the sequel out did the first. Well this is one of them. I have to say I am a little partial, having been hooked by the first movie, but I have yet to come across a better movie this year.
Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) uttered memorably, "Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is." Now every one does, and this movie doesn’t disappoint. The ... ...are we glad we took the red pill”, because the second Matrix movie is one of those rare sequels that's bigger and better than the first. Here, the good guys--Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) and, whoa, Neo (Keanu Reeves)--plug in again to rescue the Key maker (Randall Duk Kim), who they believe can help end the war between men and machines. Of course, it's never that simple. But it sure is one hell of a wild ride, often against ...

...must of been one of the most anticipated movies in a long while. Many people tried to download an illegal copy from the internet before they went out to the cinema to see it. It was probably for the best that they failed since the special effects were definately worth seeing on the big screen. I have to say, much to my disappointment, they were right. I was expecting so much more from this movie ...

...THE MATRIX: RELOADED (DVD)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you find this review helpful, and that you enjoy reading it. I will say that i am a fan of action films, as a lot of people are. Many of the films that have been considered as the greatest films ever have been in the action genre, such as the Terminator. But for some reason, i dont know why, i had never been drawn to watch the original Matrix, which was directed in 1999 by ... ...did a good job with the first Matrix, selling thousands of copies, and putting it on the favourite lists of many action film lovers, including me. So it is under no surprise that many people would be anticipating the 2nd Film, Matrix: Reloaded. I never had chance to see it in the cinema, through lack of time, so i jumped at the chance to snatch it up on DVD as soon as it slid onto the shelves. I got a drink, some food, sat down, and put on the DVD ...
Advantages: Bigger better faster Disadvantages: Familiarity with first film needed
Since the original MATRIX film was made (yes it really was four years ago), the producers avoided the immediate temptation to rush out and serve up exactly more of the same - this has both advantages and disadvantages.
The trouble with sequels is there are two ways to handle them, you can either spend the first forty minutes explaining what happened in the last film, which means half the audience has fallen asleep before the 'real' film, or you ... ...Matrix Reloaded falls firmly into the second category.
In MATRIX 1, two themes were dealt with; the rather hackneyed Si-Fi plot line of 'what do you do when machines take over the world' and the somewhat more psychological question of 'how do you know life isn't some sort of dream'
Throw in a few spectacular martial arts fight scenes, and some groundbreaking special effects and they had a sure-fire cult movie on their hands - for grown ups.
There ...
...Story: Following on from events of the first film, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity return to Zion, the last human outpost, only to learn it is under an impending threat from the machines. ...was expected of this after the success of the first film. It certainly had a large budget and a large amount of time since the first film for it to be ready. Unfortunately, if you're expecting a film even remotely close to being as good as the first, you'll be sorely disappointed. I'm sure the film will rake in a lot of money at the box-office on the back of the first film, but it may permanently damage the matrix franchise.
I went into the theatre to see this much hyped film with the greatest hope that it would be a spectacle not to be forgotten... Thank God it lived up to expectations. Having seen The Matrix just a few weeks prior to this film's release at UK cinemas I had the plot fresh in my mind and was anxious to see the follow-up. ...2) It’s much better than the sequel.
And let me explain by telling you a couple of words about the action:
Neo (the same Keanu “Bruce Lee” Reeves) keeps having nightmares about Trinity dying. Then, it starts the philosophy. When there aren’t fight scenes there is philosophy and viceversa. We see some important members of the rebel world, war commanders, etc. There is one ... ...you feel like you’re watching the carnival in Rio de Janeiro. The Matrix Reloaded is the follow up to the huge smash hit The Matrix. Again the plot centres around Neo (Keanu Reeves) Morpheus, Trinity, and the rest of the crew as they continue to battle the machines that have enslaved the human race. That's not all though, they learn that 250,000 sentinels are digging towards them in order to wipe out the humans who dared to rebel against them.
I knew it wasn't a bad movie, but it wasn't up to the standards of the first one either. For me the script is too bloated and pretentious, and the philosophical aspects seemed a bit forced in places. And I defy anyone to understand what The Architect said first time around.
What defined the first one, at least to most people, were the stunts and the effects, and they're back with ...
After thoroughly enjoying The Matrix, I like many others eagerly anticipated the sequel. What a let down!
The story picks up some time after the original ended, still the same three main characters of Neo, Morpheus and Trinity. Agents are still chasing 'The Exiles', Zion is under attack and the war against machines still rages.
I wont tell you too much about the storyline as I dont want to spoil it for people that haven't as yet seen it, that's ... ...first place!! The pace is jerky to say the least...in fact I got the impression I watched a 2 hour fight scene rather than a film.
This is the ususal problem with sequels. It has been given a bigger budget this time and they have gone all out to show what special effects they can do, in my opinion to the detriment of the story.
Lets start with the continuity...I am sure anyone that has seen The Matrix will know that all the implants that were in ...
