...to be a vampire_ The Lost Boys' is a film that was recommended to me a couple of years back by a fellow internet vamp-fan. I knew very little about it other than the fact that my net friend was very enthusiastic about it and when I asked for it at the DVD rental shop even the case was blank - I therefore began to watch it with few expectations or preconceptions. When I first started up the film my immediate reaction was to feel slightly nervous about ... ...old school synthesiser music opens the film and there is the rather interesting use of a children's choir. Then, my god, you are introduced to Kiefer Sutherland with a very eighties mullet - a style that most would probably hope would no longer venture beyond that of trailer trash rednecks and dodgy-looking footie players (although admittedly his mullet could have been worse). Sometimes I wonder what my parent's generation were thinking. However, ...

The Lost Boys Say Hello to the Night Sleep all day Party all night It's fun to be a vampire It may be an unusual take to write a review on a film which was created in 1987, though this, I believe, is one of those classic films that live on no matter how many years have gone past. You can rest assured that tomorrow evening I shall indeed be partying like the teenager I'm not, but I usually find myself preferring to stay on nights like this to take stock of the year gone by and spend a little time doing whatever I want in an elite company of one.

...and directed by Joel Schumacher The Lost Boys is a cult vampire film that was released back in 1987. Many people see this as the ultimate vampire movie, with good reason, and is a classic that will never be topped.

Released in 1987, by Warner Brothers and produced by Richard Donner who's are other major film titles include, The Omen and Lethal Weapon.

The story itself is set in the small town of Santa Carlos, on the Californian coast, a town harbouring a most deep secret. It is full of vampires.

Keiffer Sutherland portrays the vampire with a somewhat too natural flair! A role that ...

...foray into reviewing films!
The Lost Boys is one of my favourite films. It was a cult vampire classic which came out in 1987,and produced by Joel Schumacher, who also produced some of the Batman films.
As I said, The Lost Boys is a vampire film. At the end of the day the storyline of any vampire film is extremely predictable. You have a bloodsucking fiend who terrorises everyone leaving few necks unscathed. Then, after much blood has been spilt, ... ...poor old Drac.
So, the skill in making yet another vampire movie is not in thinking up a wonderful story line with a wonderful twist at the end. We all know the probable outcome, so how does the film hold our interest? This can be done in several ways. Firstly in the drawing of characters. Then there is the cinematography and special effects and last but not least the musical score.
For me, the over riding feature of this film is the musical score. ...

...I could write about till the cows came home (And bore you silly ). That’s when it came to me it had to be an actor I liked and there’s only one actor I have ever really loved – Mr Corey Haim. A lot of you are probably saying, ‘Who?’ Well, I’m sure I can refresh your memory in this film as firstly it’s a cult vampire film of the late 1980’s and secondly there’s not too many people I know who haven’t seen it. Not many people get away with a cover version of a Doors song but Echo and the Bunnymen achieved it with “People are Strange”. The Lost Boys is perhaps one of the best (in my humble opinion) cult horror flicks of all time. I first watched this film years ago, when my dad bought it for me for my fifteenth birthday (wow, long time ago that was!) and I was just mesmerised by it. Advantages: Funny, great soundtrack, not very scary Disadvantages: Not for those of you who like special effects
Forget Buffy and Angel, The Lost Boys is *the* original, cult 80’s vampire flick. Directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric, it was originally regarded as being pretty poor at its time of release and as a result didn’t actually become a big hit. This was probably because it was billed as a horror film but, to be honest, did not really have enough blood, guts and tension to satisfy the hardcore horror fan looking ... ...its popularity has re-emerged in the last few years with the success of shows such as Buffy. I have to admit that I loved the Lost Boys even before Buffy had made vampires cool again and even forked out the money to buy the soundtrack (which I’ll talk more about later).
