Advantages: Eciting from start to finish Disadvantages: Having to wait for the next
...is a real winner. The moment the film starts its action all the way. It carries straight on from where Fellowship of the ring ended. The effects are stunning and you get a real feel of the vast size of some of the creatures and landscapes. The story is constantly changing from each group of charecters, so there is never a dull moment throughout the entire film. There are a lot of new charecters introduced to the story, some good, some bad. However ...

Advantages: really good sequel 2 the fellowship Disadvantages: none
...recomended that you have watched the fellowship of the rings first so that you can follow the story line better and no a bit about the people in it. i would recomend it to anyone who likes this sort of adventure film. i cant wait untill the next one comes out at the cinema late 2003.
even tho the film is 3 hours long, it does seem it because the story line is so good you get sucked in at the very first minute of the film, you cant take your eyes ...

Advantages: THE FILM KEEPS YOU HOOKED FOR THE FULL 3 HOURS Disadvantages: None.
The second film in the triology was not a let down.
Everything you would expect from a great film was here. The effects were superb, especially Golum and the giant trees.
The fact that it kept you fully interested for three hours is something in itself.
The characters we all love were there again, but i dont know if i liked the darker side of Frodo which was starting to become more apparent as the film wore on. As the power of the ring grew stronger, ...

Advantages: Wonderful story, breathtaking battle sequences, awesome effects (Gollum, Treebeard etc), superb direction Disadvantages: Not faithful to the Book, some pointless scenes (Arwen)
...lifelong Tolkien fanatic, I awaited the second Lord of the Rings installment with barely-contained excitement - and, just like The Fellowship of the Rings, I was not disappointed. I sat enthralled from beginning to end, and despite the film's length (nearly 3 hours) I could not get enough of it. The film's finest points were the incredible special effects and the attention to detail for sets, costumes and props. My personal favourite aspect was Gollum, ...

Advantages: Great effects and good sequences Disadvantages: Not accurate to the original book
After watching the film, all I could think of wasGolumn saying over and over again "it hurts us! it hurts us!". The film is not accurate to the book, and alot is missed out. Of course, some had to have been missed out, lasting over 2 hours and 51 minutes, people would lose interest alot easier if forced to watch for much longer.
The effects are excellent when looking at the Balrog and Golumn. The computer generated Golumn is an A* rating.
Summing ...

Advantages: Very gripping, exciting, more---more Disadvantages: The end
...with was so far from the truth. But when I was out voted by my family at what to see at the cinema I went along to see the first film 'Fellowship of the ring' and as they had all read the books they knew what to expect but for me I was going in cold. I really, really enjoyed it but was so dissappointed when I realised at the end I had to wait another year to see the next one. This film did not dissapoint me again, I'm really hooked and it's so well ...

Advantages: Visually stunning, good character development, close to feel of the book Disadvantages: Not suitable for younger children, too long and too dark!
I eagerly awaited the release of this film, having been very impressed with "The Fellowship of the Ring", and I wasn't disappointed. From start to finish this film is a treat for the senses. The photography and special effects are stunning, the characters and becoming more deeply drawn and the story was as close to the book as is possible. I don't think this is a film for younger children, some of the images can be quite disturbing, this is a "dark" ...

Advantages: fantastic scenery and music. The story is a classic Disadvantages: rather too long to sit without a visit to the bathroom - but the film is too good to miss any of it
The Two Towers is the second film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
The story follows on from shortly after the first films ending. We follow the adventures of Frodo and Samwise Gamgee as they meet up with Gollum on their way to the Land lf Mordor.
The battle scenes are magnificent in their concept and the grandeur of the New Zealand scenery adds to the magic of Middle Earth. Even if you are not interested in the story, it is worth buying a ...

Advantages: Cinematography was great Disadvantages: Left out some vital parts of the book so anybody who had not read it was left confused by some things
Having thoroughly enjoyed the first episcope of this trilogy I was eager to see the second. I was very confused by the rating of 12A it was given though, as I fail to see how having an adult with you would make this film any the less scary to a four or five year old and I had the mis-fortune to only be able to get a daytime ticket, so I was surrounded by crying children through out the film.
I am not a big reader and had not read this book so I ...

Not that impressed Review ofThe Lord Of The Rings - The Two Towers DVDby

Advantages: No real advantage Disadvantages: No real disadvantage
I had never heard of the Lord of the Rings until the film came out. I had never read the books.
I was very sceptical about it all.
When I sat through the first film, I must say I was very impressed. The whole experiance left me breathless, although as I suffer from the fear of hights it took some strong breaths to watch some parts.
I was then very pleased when I was invited to go to veiw the following film Two Towers.
I can say that I was not ...

Advantages: Great battle scenes Disadvantages: Still just as long as the first!
The Two Towers was a great improvement on the first film, The Fellowship Of The Ring. Although I thought the first film was brilliant there was too much of nothing happening. Basically it was approx. 3 hours of Frodo and his friends making their way to that place that looks like its on fire and that beast thing lives there!
The seconf film is much better, there is about a 10 minute battle scene which is brilliant. The only negative part of the film ...

Advantages: Good story, well-made film Disadvantages: A few slow points, a bit too long
It's not as good as the first episode as there isn't so much happening and the characters are developing; but it does have it moments, particularly the end battle scene and Gollum's obsession with the ring.
The ensemble cast is still superb, with stalwart performances from Andy Serkis as Gollum and Bernard Hill as King Theoden; whilst the special effects come up trumps again with Gollum, the giant trees and the rampaging Orcan army.
It's a ...

Advantages: Well presented and excellent effects Disadvantages: A bit too long
This is the sequel to Fellowship of the Rings, which, as with the first, could be a bit shorter.
I found this to be an enjoyable film, even though I was not keen on seeing it. However, once you have watched it, it does make sense to see the third instalment. This film draws you in and then spits you back out again feeling a bit bewildered.
The graphics are excellent and you will be amazed at how real everything looks.
A good aspect is ...
