How King sold the rights to his so-so short story about a murderous satyr who mows lawns to the producers, and how they turned it into this unrelated tribute to cyberspace/virtual reality, is probably a story in itself worthy of a movie. Don't be mislead by the King connection or the title: this is basically an early entry into the growing genre of virtual reality movie. There are some sympathetic performances, particularly Fahey but also by Brosnan. ...

fThe 80's equivalent to the 70's 2001 this film was huge at the cinema for the effect it had on the induced for the films finale, for its time there are some revolutionary special effects here, supposedly based on a stephen king novella, before he had his name removed from any contact with the film, and starring Pierce brosnan before he went all heroic and became james bond, it now looks a bit dated on dvd and the effects a little tiresome compared ...

...to see this film at the cinema many years ago, it was supposed to be based on a stephen king story. But turned out to be nothing like the short story.
Jobe (played by Jeff Fahey) is the local church gadener and not very bright, when he meets Dr Angelo (played by Pierce Brosnan) Who has been using computers to increase the intellegence of monkey's, offers to do the same to Jobe. The result is that his intellengence is increased so much he goes crazy ...
