Advantages: Great film, good for a cry, lovely characters & happy ending Disadvantages: Littlefoots mother dies :'(
The Land Before Time is the ultimate Dinosaur equialent of Bambi. In that it's basic underllying theme is littlefoot becoming an orphan due to his mother being killed by a preadator. ( in this case by a 'sharp-tooth', in bambi's case, a human sports hunter ). This fantastic old skool animated film is work from Steven Spielberg, and was directed by Don Bluth, to produce a tear jerking classic film with a soundtrack composed by James Horner. Originally ... ...2006, we are graced with the DVD format, to enjoy the spacousness of a DVD cupboard. Which is great you can fit like 30 DVD's in the space of 10 VHS cases. And is the main reason, together with the purchase of a DVD player, why we've traded almost all our VHS's for the newer DVD versions.

Advantages: the best dinosaur film ever ever! Disadvantages: all the sequels retain nothing of this masterpiece
...Don Bluth (who also did the similar animated family film An American Tail) and the way it dealt with death, loss and friendship just seemed so refreshing compared to a lot of other films that were out then. actually even more so now-a-days, all films seem to be filled with bright colours, characters bouncing around, all happy with way too much singing...which is fine sometimes, but what i love so much about this film is that it was gritty and grainy ... ...an orphaned bracheosaurus dinosaur, at the time of change in their world; food and water is scarce, the green lands have turned to rubble and herds are not safe from predators. split from his only remanining family littlefoot must find his way to the a place called 'the great valley', the only lush and safe place for all kinds of herds. the only thing is, littlefoot must remember the path as told to him by his mother, who dies after battling the ...
