I thought this film to be incredibly thought-provoking, if a little odd. I found some parts of it to be quite confusing, and I had to watch the film twice to understand it properly. You have to pay attention, but it really is a fantastic movie - worth watching more than once so as to understand the storyline. ...

Advantages: very good story line Disadvantages: bit boring in places
...this film. i really like the way it explores different opinions and shows different cultures. its downfall is that it can be a bit boring in places.
it is set in Siam and follows the stroy of the king and ruler of that country and a very opinionated young english school teacher that has been sent across to help him and shows how difficult a clash of opinion can be. within this story is a sad story of love and how it is worth fighting for.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical the King and I special edition is a great buy and one I would highly recommend to any one.
This is one of the great Hollywood musicals from that period of time when they where making such great films like this.
The story is of a English governess Anna Owens played by the great Debera Karr who has gone to Siam to be the governess to the children of the King (played by the one and only Yul Brynner .
There ... ...been sent to the King as an other wife and her bid for freedom with the man she loves.
This film has some great music and songs and the sets are realy eye catching.
Its a must if you have not ever seen it and if you have already seen this film then you will know what I am saying when I say you have to have this in your collection.
A film for all the family and once you have seen it you will want to watch it again and again. ...
