He sees Red, we see Green!!!

Advantages: A vast improvement from the firsy Hulk film!!!
Disadvantages: It really leaves you wanting another Hulk film.... straight away!

With the recent release of Iron Man raising the bar in terms of the actual quality of all super hero films, the new release from the recently formed Marvel Enterprise of The Incredible Hulk has hit another home run for the fans of the mighty green skinned hero and raised the bar even further. The previous film directed by Ang Lee was somewhat a slow burning affair that really didn't come alive till at least half way through the film, this not only ...
...over edgy feel. The cast members also looked a little uncomfortable and out of place as if they had been gathered together and told to improvise, from a disappointing Box Office return Marvel knew that they had to do something drastic to reverse fortunes as after all the Hulk is well known to everyone, and still has a large fan base supporting the TV series of the late seventies. So in an attempt to effectively "reboot" the franchise after only one ...

Should the Dark Knight be worried?

Advantages: Good story, brilliant special effects
Disadvantages: The acting is questionable at times

The Incredible Hulk is a 2008 superhero movie. It is not a follow on from the 2003 Ang Lee film starring Eric Bana. The film was made on a huge budget of $150,000,000 and grossed an estimated $263,427,551 at the box office. The film didn’t just do well at the box office, it also did well with critics. The film is rated 12 and runs for approximately 112 minutes. The Incredible Hulk is directed by Louis Leterrier who’s previously worked on: Unleashed, ...
...a part in the screenplay. Edward Norton stars, you’d think after the disaster of Eric Bana’s performance it would be easily topped! Edward Norton has previously appeared in: Fight Club, Red Dragon and American History X. his co-star is played by Liv Tyler, she’s appeared in: Armageddon, The Strangers and Reign Over Me. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) has been on the run for 5 years, after a failed experiment turned him into The Hulk. He’s hiding out ...

Incredible Hulk - Don't Make Me Angry!!!!!!

Advantages: Good special effects. Easy to get into. Great ending.
Disadvantages: Lacked humour.

...for something to watch over the week-end, we finally decided upon the Incredible Hulk, which is currently showing on Sky Anytime. Initially, me daughter wasn’t interested as she saw it as a ‘boy’ film, but when I explained about watching the television series whilst growing up, she decided to give it a go. ===What’s it all about?=== Well, this is a big budget superhero type film, reminiscent of the 1970’s tv series starring Bill Bixby. It tells the ...
...power. Whilst he thought the experiment was to further research that would help soldiers, the experiments were in fact designed to increase military power. After destroying the lab and hurting Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) his girlfriend, he goes on the run, hiding from the military, whilst trying to find a cure for his condition. He talks online to an unknown person, who is trying to help him. William Hurt plays Betty’s father - General Thaddeus Ross, ...

You wont like me when I am hungry-Eh!

Advantages: Fun, exciting, great graphics, good cast, family film
Disadvantages: Thin plot, sags a little in the middle.

The Incredible Hulk has never been my sort of viewing experience. Still after we saw a couple of clips of the modern graphics in the new Hulk movie, at a recent cinema outing, I thought that the film may have something to offer. Whether it is my advancing years, and a return to childhood or what, I do not know but suffice to say I saw The Incredible Hulk at the weekend and I loved it. HULK BACKGROUND I believe The Incredible Hulk started life as ...
...made which was fairly popular. The story centred around Bruce Banner, a scientist who ends up damaged by one of his experiments. Dr Banner's blood becomes contaminated with Gamma Rays and thereafter when this normally calm man becomes angry strange things happen to him. Namely that he becomes enormous, turns a pukey shade of green and generally runs amok. A film was made back then and one more recently, neither of which I have seen. So for me watching ...

Marvel takes a step towards the big project

Advantages: Great all round job, brave improvement on 5 years ago
Disadvantages: Liv Tyler not convincing

...2003, Marvel released 'Hulk' in the wake of a number of films based on the company's comic books, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, such as X-Men, Daredevil, Elektra, Spiderman, etc. Hulk was a near disaster, with director Ang Lee getting it uncharacteristically wrong. Casting was fair enough, with Eric Bana seemingly a good choice for Bruce Banner, the scientist exposed to gamma radiation who turns into a huge green man with anger issues. Other ...
...and coming Josh Lucas, with the experience of Nick Nolte added for good effect. Something went wrong! The film was stuttery, the plot weak and the special effects a huge disappointment. The plot suffered from hype and over-eagerness, and nothing was believeable. Ficve years on, another Hulk film hits our screens, but this time with a completely fresh start. Director Louis Leterrier takes the helm and directs Ed Norton as Banner, with the rest of ...

The Incredible Incredible Hulk!

Advantages: Norton's performance, in fact the film is brilliant
Disadvantages: Nothing springs to mind

After my enjoyment of the first Hulk film (there will be a review when I get round to watching it again!), I was very excitied to see that there was to be a second installment. Following the release of Iron Man, it seemed that the standards for comic book movies had been raised but it was undecided if this new Hulk movie would be able to rise to the standards that had been set by films about other Marvel comic book characters. So I dutifully dragged ...
...as enjoyable to me as the first film. Well, I think it was a joint dragging along, as hubby liked the first film too. And I wanted to see if Edward Norton would be convincing as Bruce Banner! ***Synopsis*** Following the end of the first Hulk movie, Bruce Banner is living and working in South America. He is pretty much incognito, as he works in a soft drink factory. But one day, he gets cut. He thinks that he gets the bottle but another one goes ...

Second Coming

Advantages: Decent Cast and Effects
Disadvantages: Lacks a really interesting plot

...movie adaptations became flavour of the month back at the turn of the century with the likes of X-Men and Spiderman, it was inevitable that some of the other major characters from the Marvel stable would get a big screen workout. One of the most recognisable characters was The Incredible Hulk, in 2003 respected director Ang Lee took on the big green giant and the result was like marmite. His interpretation was not your ordinary blockbuster, instead ...
...characterization. But I guess the bottom line was that whatever way you looked at it, it didn't deliver bang for the buck. That's why it didn't achieve the expected box office results. So come 2008, we have another stab at the character. This time Ed Norton replaces Eric Bana in the lead role of Bruce Banner, a scientist who becomes victim of his own experiment and when very angry turns into a giant raging green beast. Instead of having a lot of ...

Roth & Hurt stand out above Norton & Tyler

Advantages: Roth & Hurt
Disadvantages: Compressing the accident into the opening credits

...never existed & this is the one and only definitive version of Hulk (despite being also known as Hulk 2). Edward Norton is playing Bruce Banner (so Eric Bana is now confined to the annals of Hulk history and is almost certainly doomed to be forgotten). This movie throws you right into the deep end by having the accident that turns Bruce into Hulk happen over the opening title credits as well as his running away, being chased by the authorities then ...
...get an initial hand on the movie if you are one of these people who really doesn't pay attention to movie opening title sequences. The last newspaper report says he hadn't been seen for 5 months. Bruce is hiding out in Brazil & we get our 1st nod back to the TV series when he sees Bill Bixby (Bruce Banner in the TV version of The Incredible Hulk) on TV in something, so their pleasing the hardcore Hulk fans pretty much right away. Bruce is being taught ...

Hulks back again,,,and bigger!!!

Advantages: easy to watch
Disadvantages: some parts are unrealistic

...and i was dreading it. The Incredible Hulk has never been my sort of thing, more my brothers actually. Looking at the macho front cover i thought it was an animated version with voice overs from the film starts but was pleasantly suprised to see it wasnt. In fact i really enjoyed it from the opening sequence, especially the soundtrack, very dramatic and fitting. Edward Norton has always been a favourite actor of mine and i had my reservations about ...
...outstanding as always and played the character of Bruce Banner very well indeed. We saw the emotional side of Bruce and his love for one woman and determination to keep her safe. It was very touching. I thought the film was very well written, especially for those who do not know much about the Incredible Hulk and why he turns 'green'. Prior to watching the film i thought it was just his anger that turned him but realised it was his blood and heart ...

What the Hulk should have been in the first place

Advantages: Well-paced exciting storyline, great acting from Norton and good script.
Disadvantages: Hulk story means it can't be turned into a truly amazing film but it's still good.

...with Ang Lee's version of the Hulk but for me it was just one big yawnfest. I was, for a while, scared to touch the new film for fear that it could be just as bad. The Hulk, is after all, one of the silliest marvel heroes. I loved the character as a kid but the idea now seems somewhat juvenile as an 20 year old. However, I absolutely love Edward Norton as an actor and he made the film for me. It was strange to see a pairing of him and Liv but it ...
...to be about - not the drama that Ang Lee tried to turn the 2003 one into. I don't think the Hulk could ever make the best superhero film in the world but it makes good use of the sources out there (despite deviations from the comics). DVD Features~ Got one disc version and it had none apart from subtitles, director commentaries, etc. Cost~ Bought it for £7 in HMV January sales -rather cheap! ...
