I didn’t manage to get to the cinema to see this one, so when it came out on DVD I managed to rent it, even though it is a Christmas film which I am seeing in June! Advantages: Entertaining, one for a girls night in. Disadvantages: A bit soppy and a predictable ending.
I bought The Holiday on Play.com as it was part of their Christmas Cracker sale with not a whole lot of expectations. I'd seen trailers for it at the cinema, it seemed harmless and I like Kate Winslet so I thought I'd go for it. I must admit that I am glad that I did.

...to watch it as all the snowy scenes are bound to get you feeling festive! (Even though it never snows in England at Christmas American film makers always seem to think that it does and that everyone in England lives in picturesque cottages in remote villages - try to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the film!).
