Advantages: dark and creep
Disadvantages: too dull to be very scary

CONTAINS SPOILERS! I've not seen the original so I won't be comparing this to that. Apart from the minor scare and the guy killing the 2 scientists at the start this is really boring for a very VERY long time. Advantages: Good, solid horror film
Disadvantages: Missed out on potentially shocking situations

...don't think i could describe the way in which a pick axe wielding monster attacks three men in a bloodthirsty assult. Not since Saving Private Ryan have i seen such graphic gore. There was even a disturbing sequence being played while the credits were rolling, which although disturbing, tie in nicely with the film when reflected on at the end. Disadvantages: Not very in depth in terms of chracters or the background of the hill dwellers.

...I can't compare it to the original, as I've never seen it! The plot is a pretty basic family road trip to California driving through the deserts of New Mexico when they "break down" and end up the targets of cannibalistic inhabitants of the hills and soon find themselves fighting to survive! Well the film inevitably starts with a clean-cut average family on a caravan trip. They are heading for the coast and the owner of the gas station they stop at gets wind of this. He then rather helpfully tells them to take a cross country road which they inevitably do take. Death and destruction rage thereafter! The Hills Have Eyes is an excellent remake of Wes Craven's 1977 horror movie, The Hills Have Eyes. It is about mutant's who have been forced out of their home's and forced to live in the hill's because of the way they look. Advantages: Great film for a group of people who want a good, jump'n'scare Movie.
Disadvantages: Rely on the surprises not on the story line.

The film is somewhat of a dissapointment, a normal typical American horror styled film, to which a past tragedy has effected the seemily hard done by killer/mutants, who as it turns out, for all their sorrow are actually sadistic in their means of justice and are rather pathetic in their goal. When I saw this for the first time my little girl was the same age as the baby in the film so I spent most of the time worrying that something would happen to her. The storyline is basically about a town of "hill dwellers" who were turned into mutants due to some neuclear blast. A family are driving through the hills when a trap punctures the tires of their cars. What follows is a complete gore fest that will leave even the strongest of stomachs ... Read review

The Hills Have Eyes is a film for those who like to watch more of the back of the couch than the actual film itself. It starts off like a normal American horror film, but the further through the film you go, the better and more gory it becomes. ...was expecting something similar to the Original and Jeepers Creepers ... you know, crap . I was wrong. This movie is a refreshing change to the usual rubbish you'd expect from America. It builds up really well by taking its time to allow you to "get to know" the characters, then you actually care if they get it or not. ...face everytime we go to the cinema, but this one surprised me This film is an in your face horror, that isnt afraid too put its foot just that little too far.
