...on Christmas day. This year the chosen film was 2000's Blockbuster hit 'The Grinch' starring Jim Carrey. Having grossed $340,400,000 worldwide at the Box Office, 'The Grinch' was one of the most successful films of 2000 and it is not hard to see why. Although the film has these added elements and as such is much longer than the original tale was meant, 'The Grinch' I feel is a strong film and this factor does not detract from the overall quality ...

Advantages: Good for children Disadvantages: Weak adaptation of a great book
...Green Ham and Eggs, to the wondrous ‘The Grinch who stole Christmas’, the books enrapture my children, with their fun stories and their weird rhyming.
Dr Seuss has the ability to tap into the imagination of children with sometimes silly, but always satisfying stories that abound with fun and frolicking. Imagine my children’s glee when they heard that ‘The Grinch’ had made it to the big screen – imagine the pestering ... ...VHS.
The so-called normal school students of Whoville abuse the Grinch, a humanoid figure who just happens to be green and furry. This abuse causes the Grinch to leave town and become a hermit high up in the hills. Through his anger and sadness he decides to hate Christmas. He does have a little interaction with the people, but this is mainly due to collecting and using their trash or disrupting their mail.
One particular Christmas ...

...of us are familiar with The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (written by Dr. Seuss), and Imagine Entertainment have re-hashed the old classic into the critically acclaimed Christmas film: The Grinch.

Everyone gets along with everyone else and the innocence of life is personified ... ...time and everyone is in the mood for collecting mistletoe, gathering beside the fire and buying presents for their loved ones. All of this is let down by one small imperfection. Up in Mount Crumpit, there are myths of a monster, The Grinch (Jim Carrey) who detests Christmas, and lives alone with a dog. Those who dare go up there return shaken up, telling of being chased by The Grinch itself, which is highly forbidden, especially in this season. The ...

...And I like Dr Seuss, The Cat In The Hat surely being one of the greatest children's book ever...but the idea of sitting through a 2 hour movie based on one of them with Carey playing a green hairy grouch...too painful for words. I hoped I would be wrong.

No, it is abysmal, I can't pretend otherwise. To ME then, it sucks, but then, maybe I am not its target audience, although my cousins children didn't like it either and they range from 9 to 14. Advantages: OK for the children Disadvantages: Not one of Jim Carey's best by a long way
This year we received The Grinch as one of our Christmas presents. I wasn’t too sure about this one, I do like Jim Carey, and he was brilliant in The Mask and The Truman Show in particular, but The Grinch? I wasn’t sure at all.

The Grinch Didn’t Steal My Christmas… I watched this film with my younger daughter on Christmas Eve and am not sure whether or not it gets my vote as a good film. I went to see the Grinch purely because I'd actually been on the set of the film and so was intrigued and wanted to see the end result. The director of the film is Ron Howard and although this isn't the usual kind of film you'd expect himto produce, it's still enjoyable and well timed for the Christmas season.

Over the Christmas holidays I went to watch The Grinch in Pennsylvania with some family. My boyfriend's sister raved about it and quoted it until we thought we better see it just to get her to stop.

Today it's been announced that The Grich is the most successful film of the year. It was also the day when I saw it.
It's not hard to see why it's so huge. It has some stunning visuals, family values and has no violence, swearing etc.
