Will they find a way to share? Or are two of the three destined to die? Westerns are very far from being the type of film that I enjoy. However, I like to challenge myself every now and again by watching something outside of my comfort zone. In addition, I was intrigued to find out a bit about the background to spaghetti westerns directed by Italian director ...

Advantages: Well written, well acted, incredible finale Disadvantages: May be a bit long for some people
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly stars Clint Eastwood as Blondie, a professional gunslinger out trying to make a few bucks. Angel Eyes is a hit man who always sees his job through, as long as he is paid. And Tuco, a wanted outlaw only out for himself. These three find out about a stash of gold buried in a cemetery, and must battle it out with each other to see who gets it.
This is truly an epic film in every sense of the word. Fantastic sprawling ... ...were in, and the music reflects that. Aside from the classic opening tune, it's very minimalistic, sometimes only the wind howling being the only thing on the soundtrack. Occasionally you get a gentle strum on the guitar, and a lone trumpet, which really reflects the loneliness and the vastness between neighboring towns, where people traveling could spend weeks alone before seeing anyone else.
The script is well written, with lots of suspense and ...

Since it was released in 1966 it has shocked, inspired and entertained the public, film critics and movie makers alike. And captured such comedic lines as his character. Bringing some relief in high tension moments. As just someone that the average person can relate to.

"The Good , The Bad and The Ugly" has got to be one of the most recognisable films of all time. This classic Spaghetti Western, directed by Sergio Leone, is packed full of action and drama and features one of the finest soundtracks courtesy of Ennio Morricone. The film focuses around three main protagonists (the good, the bad and the ugly) and their search for treasure. Firstly we are introduced to The Ugly, also known as Tuco (Eli Wallach) who represents ... ...Angel Eyes is their representing the villain and darker character. Finally we are introduced to The Good aka Blondie (Clint Eastwood) although he does not represent 'good' as such as he tends to do as he pleases. He is however the hero of this film. The characters, although independent when we first see them, cross each others paths at different points in the film. To start with, Angel Eyes is doing his best to find a huge sum of stolen gold. Meanwhile ...

...realised this should be under The Good The Bad and The Ugly Special Edition release - REALLY SORRY!! Set against the backdrop of the US Civil War, the final part of the 'dollars' spaghetti western trilogy, Sergio Leone's masterpiece is quite simply one the greatest pieces of work ever committed to film, both visually and audibly, with composer Ennio Morricone providing one of the most famous film scores of all time.
... ...For a Few Dollars More, The Good The Bad and The Ugly (GBU from now on), was filmed partly in Rome, for the studio shots, and partly in Almeria, Southern Spain, for the panoramic shots.
Naturally I don't wish to give the plot away but suffice to say, it's as mad as a slinky.
The film revolvs around three main characters, The Good - "Blondie" played by Clint Eastwood, The Bad "Angel Eyes" played by Lee van Cleef and The Ugly - "Tuco" played by the ...

The film begins with Blondie turning in Tuco, a bandit, for the reward and riding away. It turns out to be a scam they run, with Blondie using his rifle to shoot through the rope when Tuco is getting hung. This opening part of the film is about ten minutes long and has no dialogue.
The rest of the story is played out during the American ... ...a very brutal Civil War. The final face-off between the main characters is very dramatic and almost comical. The additional scenes were voiced over by Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach, but Lee Van Cleef had died and another actor was used. A second disc includes featurettes, ...

It is definitely one of the best movies, I have ever seen. With the american civil war as the background, three bounty killers set out to take into their possession, a large sum of money which was buried in a grave by a dead soldier. Circumstances bring them together and they strike an agreement as Clint Eastwood alone knows where the money is.
Clint Eastwood is instrumental in his performance. There are many power packed dialogues, which linger ... ...several funny imprecations. The background music has become history. The scene where Clint Eastwood blows a bridge is dealt with beautifully. There are some funny instances where Clint Eastwood becomes a prisoner of the Union forces for appearing in a confederate uniform. The movie is full of surprises.
All in all a great movie to watch. ...

...film is in my opinion, the bst of Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy. Since 1966, this film has stood the test of time, and has been homaged many times including in Kill Bill Vol2. Being a fan of the Spagetti Western genre, i liked this film and i feel it would be a good introduction into Spagetti Westerns and Sergio Leion's work.
