*** Plot ***
Guys imagine the scene. You're in high school and you're known as one of the school nerds. You don't do anything spontaneous or anything considered to be fun. Your life pretty much sucks. That is until one day you get home and find that the ... ...a porn addict? The girl next door tells the story of falling in love despite the consequences and the fun that comes along with it.
*** What I thought About... ***
1) The film in general.
I've wanted to see this for quite a while now but I had a hard job convincing my fiance that he would enjoy it too. The plotline itself didn't really appeal to me when I read about it, but the trailers I watched really did look funny so after a few weeks persuasion ...

Advantages: Sweet and romantic, Quite funny, Elisha Cuthbert, Nudity Disadvantages: More for the teenage lads
The movie revolves around Matthew Kidman (Emile Hirsch), an 18 year old high school over-achiever senior trying to get a scholarship to a prestigious college/university. He leads an uneventful life until one evening when he falls for the beautiful and seemingly innocent, Danielle (Elisha Cuthbert, House of Wax), who moves in next door. They fall in love but the story goes on to reveal Danielle's secret past in the porn industry. Matthews involvement ... ...the story goes on to how Matthew gets himself out of it, with the help of his two sex crazed friends, Eli and Klitz. There is nudity throughout the movie and it revolves around the porn industry, so there's something to keep the lads interested. I think the romance in the story is so sweet so that's something for the ladies. I think the cast seem very suitable for this type of movie. There are the stereotypical jocks and geeks like in other American ...

Advantages: Funny and for both sexes Disadvantages: Aimed at a young audience
...afternoon, I went to see the movie ‘The girl next door’. I half expected it to be full of young boys longing for a bit or soft porn action and I was not wrong! However, the boys were very wrong, although there was a little nude flesh there was very few sex scenes and the sex scenes that there were, were not that explicit. The boys which were barely old enough to watch the film, in the back of the cinema kind of added to the whole comic nature of ... ...The director:
The girl next door is directed by Luke Greenfield has previously directed three films before this one, The right hook (2000), The Animal (2001) and Go Sick (2002) which was for TV. Therefore nothing really to shout home about because I haven’t heard of any of these; however this doesn’t mean to say that they are not of reasonable quality!
After getting his start as a director for Adam Sandler's production company, 32-year-old director ...

Advantages: Enjoyale film Disadvantages: Adult theme, not longlived
The Girl Next Door is one of the teen films that seems to be quite common at the moment, or at least since American Pie. The plot is not totally surprising. Basically it stars a nerdy geeky guy(Matthew Kidman), he is nice and clever however he is not really into fashion or sports. So he is something of a social outcast and has to hang around with his mates.
One day a girl moves in next door. She is obviously incredibly attractive and he manages ... ...than pleased with this.
The rest of the film revolves around his attempts to win her back. There is also a subplot around his plan to get money to bring a Cambodian student over to the USA and his relationship with the girls producer/agent.
One theme of the film is that the girl is not just physically attractive, but she also helps to become more relaxed. From a feminist perspective it is interesting that it is always the guy that gets the hot ...

...it had me laughing all the way through it. Being a typical American teen comedy - I thought it was going to be yet another American Pie rip-off as that's what most films are now - even though nothing can ever beat the comedy that was in all three of those films!
Well…
Emile Hirsch plays Matthew Kidman, the high schooler in this comedy. Class president, recently accepted to his dream college, Georgetown University, he is on the right track and knows ... ...She comes over to the house and talks to his parents but doesn’t bust him – he obviously thinks that is what she has come round for. Instead Matthews parents suggest that he show Danielle round. So they go driving around the town, she manages to makes Matthew strip in the middle of the street and then she abandons him by driving off with all his clothes! The pair hit it off – always the way with American films, the nerdy guy always gets the gorgeous ...

At the start of the film we meet Matthew; a hardworking guy, focused on getting a place at one of the top universities in America. ...wanted to watch Shaun Of The Dead and was highly dissapointed when i came out the shop with this. But after a few flashes of boobs he was delighted!! How sad.
The main character is Matthew Kidman. He and his 2 friends Klitz and Eli (the porn mad freak!!) are all geeks and seem like the kind of guys that'll get straight A's (lucky buggers).

Advantages: Elisha Cuthbert! Disadvantages: Story could be better!
A teenage boy's fantasy, The Girl Next Door is a great film that has some good twists & turns from its two young leads which is why its better than most teen movies. Emile Hirsch, a young charming actor plays Matthew, a play-it-safe nerd who dreams of being the next president, his role model, JFK. A high achiever, Matthew loses the plot when Danielle (Elisha Cuthbert) moves in next door, who he immediately lusts for. (rightly so!)
As the two become ... ...time with Danielle, much to the envy of his horny friends played by Chris Marquette and Paul Dano. But when his friend reveals that she infact a pornstar, Matthew is caught between lust and affection, and this causes a problem within their relationship with each other. Matthew tries in vain to win back the girl who loved him for not seeing her as a sex object and has a bizarre yet gripping outcome. A story about morales, is very entertaining. Admittedly ...

Advantages: good storyline, very funny Disadvantages: a bit unrealistic
This is one of the funniest films I've seen since American Pie. If you decide to buy one teen film, this has to be it. Forget all the others, go for the Girl Next Door. I was a bit worried about watching this with my mum in the next room, but its fine. THere are no hard core porn scenes, so don't get your hopes up guys.
The film starts with the class looser, who falls in love with the girl next door. She really is fit, it was great casting. He watches ... ...his friends house. One of the best lines in the film comes here, with her looking amazingly hot. "Can I come in? I'm all wet"
He looses her trust by taking her to a cheap motel for sex, and then has to go to the Adult Film
Convention to get her back. There are some amazing scenes here!!
He eventually gets her back, but not after having to steal a golden dildo and getting drugged. He then looses his scholarship to a top Uni in america. He then ...

...DVD after seeing it in the cinema because it really is a good quality movie for most tastes and is really good to watch with anyone, anywhere.
STORYLINE - Its about this guy who is basically one of the geeks at school, an intellectual yet misteriously cooler than the other geeks, is a George Town university contender experiences a total life turn around after meeting this girl who moves next door (she is so hot and i cant remember her name!). Anyway ... ...trys to take advantage of the situation etc. Then all is good in the end! It does have a good story but i dont want to spoil it for you!
CAST - quite a lot of faces have been seen before, i cant put them to other movies but its highly likley that you will recognise them. The acting quality is very good also which you dont see much in movies these days.

The Girl Next Door is a story of an intelligent and very ambitious High School Senior Matthew (Emile Hirsch) who has never experienced any type of personal exciting or thrilling event. His life, up to this point, has been preparing for his future of attending Georgetown University and eventually following his dream of becoming president. Although he is happy for being accepted to the school of his dreams, ... ...doing. This all changes when the girl of his dreams, Danielle (Elisha Cuthbert) moves in next door. ...Danielle is a 15 and the language is frequent and strong also frequent strong references to sex/nudity. There is mild language.
The Film
This film is about a 18 year old boy Matthew who is bright and inteeligent and gets A's on everything, who has never really lived life. Untill he falls for sexy and seemingly innocent Danielle.(Elisha Cuthbert).
They fall in love quickly and get all cosy when his sex mad pals Eli and Klitz discover she is really ... ...out of control.
The Actors/actresses
I think the boy who plays Matt is very well picked and is very good at this part. He plays it very well and is very good at acting the part. I wouldn't chnage him for anyone else. Also i think the person who plays Danielle is very good and plays it very well to. I can say the same about all of the actors/actresses in this film they play their parts very well and i wouldnt change any of them.

...a lot of chemistry between the two, most notably in the swimming pool scene.
One can compare this film's humour to the average Hollywood teen offering, such as American Pie or Old School. Such movies provide slapstick comedy but in reality the Girl Next Door is different, with more intelligent jokes and lines. One could also accuse The Girl Next Door of being a teen movie, but this would be unecessarily harsh as there is a strong story line running ...
