The Fugitive stands proud amongst the increasing number of movies which have taken an old 60s television show and attempted to recapture their former glory on the silver screen. ...is without doubt one of the greatest actors of his generation. His appeal is widespread, as are the roles he has played. So when this DVD of The Fugitive came out I was enthralled to watch it. Being in my early **ty's I am lucky enough to be able remember the original TV series starring David Janson, which in itself was great TV. ...excellent acting and effects around the main plot – Harrison Ford’s part as Dr. Richard Kimble, an escapee from a crashed prison bus, who then seeks to show the world that he didn’t murder his wife as his conviction states. ...Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. The film is full of action and keeps you watching unlike some other films that make you so bored after the first 5 mins. Ford is the fugitive who is convicted for killing his wife and determined to prove his innocence. Tommy Lee Jones is the US marshall who is brought in to find him and send Ford back to prison. The fugitive released in 1993 was the second most successful film of that year behind Jurassic park.It is based on the hit 60s drama ,which starred David jansen as a doctor on the run after being accused of his wifes murder.He suspects that a onearmed man had commited his wifes murder and would remain on the run until he found the killer.The series mixed emotions,tension and chase scenrios to make a tv show which was entertaining but also intelligent.It ... ...Lee makes it even better. The story line centres on Harrison Ford's character Dr Kimble who is accused of murder, the murder of his wife. We have all the inevitable action whilst Tommy Lee who plays the U.S. Marshal Sam Gerrard tries to find him after he has escaped from the bus which was taking him to prison. ...from a television series from the 1960\'s which instantly makes it more difficult to stand out because you are well aware that it lacks originality of its own. Problems aside.. I don’t remember the original series of Fugitive that eventually led to the making of this film, I’m sure some of you out their do. I must admit to like action films and Harrison Ford, in this film Ford plays a doctor who is wrongly accused of murder of his wife. Advantages: Thrilling, Dramatic, Excellent performances
Disadvantages: The lead character is too lucky!

This film must be among the best ever. It is thrilling from the start and the audience sympathises with Ford's character, as you always know he has been wrongly convicted. You share in his frustration and pain throughout his journey. The action is also excellent, and is always believable, apart from the fact that the main character is far too lucky, surviving many near-death experiences in true Hollywood style.
