Advantages: well directed and produced, good choice of characters and actors/actresses, good story line Disadvantages: None
The first time I went to see this film was when it was re-released for Halloween 1998. I was sixteen and managed to get into the cinema to see this. I went with my best mate and we were totally scared! I'd never seen a film like it and spent most of the film hiding, with my best mate, behind her scarf! I have since purchased it on DVD, and we watch it regularly. It's just such an interesting film, combining issues of the health service and religion. ... ...told by people who saw the film when it was first released, that bits have been edited and re-mastered, and that most of the REALLY scary bits have been removed completely, but I still think this is the scariest movie I have ever seen and nothing will ever match it! ...

...is So Funny! Forget all the talk of it being the scariest movie ever. The Exorcist made me laugh for hours.
This well thought out film is about a young girl being possessed by the devil and a priest is trying to help her remove the devil.
The girl is tied a bed where she tries to get free while the family figure out a way to cure this possession.
Although the theme is very scary the film infact is not, she seems to have head fits all the time ... ...find it just as funny as me.
The graphics are rubbish and so is the sound, Trust me this film is not scary at all and is well worth the watch even if only to say you’ve seen it, Go on watch it, It’s a laugh of your lifetime ...

...on from its world premiere, The Exorcist still sets a standard by which other horror films are judged. One of the greatest horror genres providing a nail biting performance of young possessed girl that gives a revolutionary 360 degree head spinning, devilish, and terrifying antics. Although this film won 2 oscars it was banned at one stage for provoking suicidal tendencies. Widely acclaimed movie without the use of computer graphics and special effects ... ...spine. The newly restored version has additional 6 minutes of footage that offers more character development and "scary" scenes. You also get to see some cool, but brief, glimpses of the eerie white face in various scenes, and the much talked about "spider-walk" sequence, which I personally found very effective! ...

WOW! The greatest horror movie of all time. Forget Texas Chainsaw Massacre, forget Halloween, forget Blair Witch. This is the daddy of them all, the only surprise is that I am the first person to review it! I saw a bootleg of this when I was thirteen years old, and then on its re-release in the cinema and it still had the same effect on me. I have never seen a film that captures the innocence of youth, and transorms it into the epitomy of all that ...

Advantages: it was an okay film Disadvantages: didn't live up to it's expectations
When I heard about the exorsist is was quite a while ago before it had been realeased again and I heard that it had been ban on video and I really wanted to see because I had heard that some of the events were based on things that had happened to a young boy in America. Later on I found out that it was coming to the pictures again and as I am only 14 I wouldn't be able to go so I had to wait until it was released on video to see it. My mum seen it ... ...still wanted to see finally the daycame when it was released on video and I got my dad to go down and get it for me and I sat and watched it waiting for it to get scary but what a dissapointment it was when it was nearly the end and I hadn't even had a descent fright or felt scared at any point. I slept fine that night and never even had a nightmare what a dissapointment that film was! Why was it ban it isn't even scary?! ...

Advantages: Great classic film for its era, a quick scare, classic acting in an all time classic 18 rated spook. Disadvantages: Poor effects compared with todays technology, not much of an in depth plot. Few recognised characters.
...did back then. Although the humerous side appeals to me slightly more now, but i've watched it so many times. This old style classic spook is enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, perhaps with a pillow to cover your eyes! Without wanting to give to much away on the film's plot and exact scene take, this film has great character acting with a sick twist. Not for the faint hearted, young or people who scare easily, this film envolves religion ...

The Exorcist (1973) is the sensational, shocking horror story about devil possession and the subsequent exorcism of the demonic spirits from a young, innocent girl (of a divorced family). The film was made on the actual case of a youth controlled by demonical forces (a 14-year-old boy in Maryland in 1949, now happily married and the father of three). The Exorcist was notable for being one of the biggest box-office successes (and one of the first 'blockbusters' ... ...(1972) as the biggest money-maker of its time. And it remains one of the few horror films nominated for Best Picture. However, it was also one of the most opposed films for its controversial content. Roman Polanski's successful Rosemary's Baby (1968) played upon similar fears of devil possession.
The controversial nature of the film's content - exorcism (accompanied by blasphemies, obscenities and graphic physical shocks), was supposedly based upon ...

Advantages: Original concept Disadvantages: Over-hyped film, nowhere near as good or scary as people make out
...was banned! For 1973 the quality is quite good, the few special effects are quite good considering the year. I think the actual horror factor is quite low, I would only give this film a 15 certificate because the modern horrors are much better and scarier! The concept of the film is quite original and hasn't been repeated, as far as I know, since the film was made - except in the sequals obviously! The acting is quite good but the mother made me ...

...to free her daughter of the devil's grip. Perhaps, the scariest film ever made, well at least amongst God fearing folk. What makes The Exorcist so terrifying is the fact that it is based on real life events. Events that could even happen today. For those who believe in God, would also believe there is a Devil, and that the Devil has the capabilities to posses a small girl. The question now is 'If the Devil is evil enough to posses an innocent little ...

I wasnt very impressed with the movie since I first saw it couple of weeks ago. Ofcourse back in 70's it was considered one of the frightening movies in cinema history. The whole idea of the movie is disturbing considering it was based on real life event that happened to a little 13 year old boy in St. Louis, MO. Even though I should say it has a good script and actors, but if I would judge from my generation I would say it could incl some more footage ...

I bought the Exorcist on DVD from my local video shop. As said in the beginning by the director, its a film about the mistery of faith. A 12 year old girls body is entered by a very evil demon. Regan uses a ouiga board and claims to speak to a "captain Howdy". Strange things start to happen, and turn worse. Regans mother Chris, speaks to A priest named Damien Karras who agrees to see Regan. He is convinced the case is for real. This film has some ... ...young chrildren. It is a powerful film and has its own different effect on everyone. i reccomend this film for good entertainment and rate it 10 out of ten. I have watched it about 8 times since i bought it in January 2004. A great investment, for now and in years to come. ...

i have seen the exorcist twice now and both times i found it shit, the first time i could hardly remember it so i gave it a second chance to refresh my mind and half way through it i remembered why i never wanted to see it again. i don't know why they banned, it must be because some americans shit their pants because that's the kind of people they are.
The film itself is shit it's about some stupid little girl that get's possesed by the devil. It's ... ...and she does something that is boring and not scary at all. I would rate this film a comedy rather than a horror because it's a joke. the only funny bit was when the old fart died and also when that fool jumped out of the window (what a faggot). ...
