I felt that the supposed classic The Exorcist was an enormous let down. When I rented it I thought that I was in for a real treat. However at the end I wished I hadn't bothered. However, though it may not be the kind of scariness where you jump every 5 or 6 minutes, there is an element of sheer terror to be felt, when thoughts are provoked such as, could this really happen? It was banned in Britain for 25 years, so I thought it had to be good, and having waited so long to see it, I rushed out and purchased it as soon as it was re-released. In fact, for me, the BBC documentary on the excorsist prior to its release was better than the film itself, and it made the film look more terrifying than it was.
