Advantages: All the best hits on 2 DVDS Disadvantages: Absolutely None
Contrary to the title of this DVD, all avid Eagles fans will be pleased to know that this was not an actual farewell tour, merely, as Don Henley has stated, a 'dig' at the likes of Cher who play continuos farewell gigs only to revive themselves a few years later.
Nevertheless, this is an immaculately filmed concert portraying the many talents of each member of the group. Unlike a lot of bands, there is not just one lead singer. Each member of the ... ...decades. As usual, the whole performance was flawless. Having seen The Eagles in concert on two occasions, I can guarantee that seeing the band on this DVD sounds just like listening to them live, which just proves that they rely totally on pure talent, rather than computerised synths and drum machines. So, as The Eagles are my all time heroes, I have great pleasure in reviewing this DVD: BAND

Advantages: A must for Eagles Fans everywhere Disadvantages: No Don Felder
Since the advent of digital media, many concerts from various artists made the crossover from video to dvd but this concert featuring The Eagles at their best is way above the sound quality one would expect from a live recording.I had wanted to see this gig for a long time and once I loaded the disc,I spent 2 and a half hours being mesmerised by pure gold. There is no doubt about it,after over 35 years these guys can still rock.
The first thing that ... ...how much work goes into the songs that Eagles fans everywhere have listened to for generations.
The concert begins with Don Henley and 'The Long Run'.For some reason I expected Don to be sat behind his drum kit but I now know that if theres a way that he dosent have to play drums he will opt for it.This is down to back problems he developed after years of playing and having to keep his head at an unnatural angle for his microphone.Great song to ...

Quick review of The Eagles - Farewell Tour Part One (DVD)
The Eagles' live performance on this DVD is such a great example of Classic Rock at its best. Although the footage is not actually of their farewell tour, the songs will really captivate any rock band with such hits as "Hotel California" and "Rocky Mountain Way". Overall, a great DVD! ...

...all time fave music Dvd.
The soundtrack is recorded in DTS 5.1 surround and you feel as though you are there if you have a good home cinema set up.
It's difficult to select my favorite tracks because there are so many, but
from the opening track "the long run" on disc one, you are engrossed.
Don't put this disc on just to hear a few tracks like i did, because you
will find it hard to not to listen to the whole concert.

Advantages: Good amount of songs, great special features, Band is in their prime Disadvantages: The Eagles are going away!
...My favorite band being the eagles, this farewell tour was more emotional than it was entertaining. They perform most of their famous songs (except for "Best of My Love"!) and they have a couple of excellent Special Features. The Special Features include interviews with each individual member of The Eagles and backstage looks at their performances. The live performances are great and the crowds make it that much more entertaining. Don Henley and Glenn ...
